OK you got 16 pipes if it can handle 520 core / 573 mem it should be safe flash to xt speeds.
My gecube x800pro vivo runs core 532/580 mem but my pipes are broken becuse when i mod the card to have 16pipes active but cant run any games or 3d applications.
To reueljoab is yuor card pcie or agp and what are the atitool telling you about the fuses.you can allways try the x800 p16 moded bios and go back if it dosent work.

ati tool does not show any info about my fuse. the info that ati tool shows when i click the setting button is only up to the default core clock and default mem clock. I also notice some instability on my card... when i turn on my pc for the first time in the morning, my videocard shows artifacts in the atitool, but when i restart my pc, and run atitool again, the artifacts are gone. is there something wrong with this card? if it has, what could be done?
i use the find max core clock and the find max mem clock, i did not get any errors even when the core clock reach at over 525 and the mem clock showed no errors even at over 570. what bios is safe to use? my x800pro vivo is the agp version of the card.

btw, my videocard's default core and mem clocks are 475/450. but it only runs at 472/445. why does it run slower than the default clocks. if i run the ati tool. it will register that the default clocks are 475/450. but it also recognize that the card is just running at 472.75/445.50... is this normal?

Hmm thats very starge 475/450 from the bios .Have made a profile with diffrent clock speeds ? and save the profile accidently with lower speeds .I use ati traytools and profile that loads my settings for clock and fan ,samething can be done with atitool.

It's normal for the actual clock speeds to be a little lower than what it says the clock speed are supposed to be. This is because the video card's bios on ATI cards will only set clock speeds that are multiples of 6.75. If you try dividing the default clock speeds by that number, it will divide evenly. BTW, isn't that number 472.50, not 472.75? I don't think it's even possible to set the clock speed to 472.75.

Anyway, the point is that you usually can't set the clock speeds exactly to what they say the default clock speeds are for the video cards. It's just a little limitation of the way they have it set up.

@Shadowflare... thanks for the info... and yes it was 472.50 not 472.75.
btw, i was already able to look at the fuses info in the settings. and it did not have those red F's. i'm still hesitant to convert the bios from X800pro vivo to X800xt pe because i'm still using the stock heatsink from gecube. and when i tested for find max core and find max mem core, the temps of my gpu went up to 70C. i'm still looking for a good heatsink to replace the stock before i'll decide to upgrade the bios.

hi, according to this review, the gecube x800pro vivo has already 16pipelines. and this is true to mine. how come some of the people here are talking about activating the 4 remaining pipelines in their gecube card.

"A pleasant surprise we found was that the GeCube GC-X800PRO256-VIVO is no normal RADEON X800 PRO card, but one that had all the 16 rendering pipelines enabled of its R420 VPU core! This means that the GeCube GC-X800PRO256-VIVO has a lot in common with the ATI RADEON X800 XT Platinum Edition, the ultimate AGP graphics card at the moment. Though the clock speeds of both products are not similar, it's nothing that any tweaker can't handle with third party utilities. Does the GeCube deliver the performance of a more expensive class of the graphics cards? We are keeping mum about that till we get to the overclocking segment. In any case, the GeCube GC-X800PRO256-VIVO will deliver performance much faster than a standard 12-pipeline RADEON X800 PRO graphics card:- "

@X800 : the bios of my card is very similar to the ati x800pro vivo 16p agp bios. i already tried to compare both bios using rabit software. i think its the same bios.
regarding the xt pe temp... at full load, is 70C a normal temp? isn't it the point where your card is already in danger? what bios did you use to upgrade your x800pro vivo to xt pe? i mean what xt pe bios which worked well with your x800pro vivo?

Hi reueljoab. The temp on x800 xtpe is around 70 on full load ,i did read that you have start to worry when the die reaches about 100c.You can ask anyone who has pe card that temps are similair.I dont have modded my card becuse i dont why when i flash any other bios the car dosent work propely--->boot to windows=yes, regonised as a pe card=yes, works for 2d and surfing=yes, but games or benchmarks =cant be run --->computer freeze.I dont know what is causing this.My card only work with orginal bios, maybye there is a way modd the orginal bios to have 16 pipes and flash it back.

Even if youor card wont mod its a great clocker. Be happy with it and start saving up for that r580 chpset th x1900xt. I am going to skip x1800 in favor for this, plust it will give me more time to save the funds to run that badboy decently, no sense in putting a 428 cobra jet into a pinto ( i did see one once), My meds are kickin time to go.:pimp:

hi X800 maybe you are using the stock heatsink for you card, and your gpu burns when running 3d apps. try using a better cooling system for your x800. i think it will do just fine with a bette heatsink.

No on my card i use an Arctic Cooling ATI Silencer 5 rev.2 so no burn here =).When it is on max load temps get about 50-53c max ,idle 31c so it is a very good cooler. My brother does have asus x800xtpe card, so his card was about 73c when he played games but now he uses Arctic Cooling too and his temps are about mine.

i just got my silencer4 cooler for about $25. i tried to softmod my card to XT PE. but i got an error message. it goes like this. Bios P/N Does Not Match With Bios File P/N! "ERROR 0FL01 : Press 1 to continue. is this error message normal when modding your bios to xt pe? i was hesitant to continue, since i'm new in sofmodding my videocard. i use to overclock my former cards, but none like softmodding.

But if you have 16pipes allready thre is no idea to modd your card.Use ati tray tools or atitool to find max core and mem and you have an pro card with the same rawpower as an xtpe card =).About the error "ERROR 0FL01 : Press 1 to continue i dont know so you have to ask somebody else about that.Use the modified flashrom and type flashrom -s 0 old.bin to save your bios and for flashing use flashrom -f -p 0 bios.bin it forces the the new bios into the card .Did you use this for flashing flasrom -p 0 bios.bin then i think you get an warning, becuse card is trying preserve the orginal bios.

hi, i tried to force flash my card... to xt pe... but i get very small artifacts in the ati tool. however, i got to run my games fine. with no flickers or something. i converted back to my x800pro vivo 16p, because of the artifacts in the ati tool. i used the beta version... my x800pro card went up way above stock xt pe clocks without artifact. how do i remove the small artifacts found in the ati tool?

CONFIG_DIE_FUSES 0xFFFFEFFF
CONFIG_SUBSTRATE_FUSES 0xFFFFFF9E

new chard: (exchange):
CONFIG_DIE_FUSES 0xFFFFBFFF
CONFIG_SUBSTRATE_FUSES 0xFFFFFF9E

what changed?

Flashing will not bring you 16 pipes with these fuses :( . You can see difference in CONFIG_ROM_FUSES but not in CONFIG_DIE_FUSES and CONFIG_SUBSTRATE_FUSES.

Save Bios?

How do you save your original bios? I have everything figured out, but I can't save the bios that's on it now. How do you find the file name of your current bios and what do you type into flashrom to save it? flashrom -s ___________? Thank you.

edit- Also, what bios do you use if you have a PCI-E card? i dont see a X800XT PE for PCI-E... Will a X800XT bios work or what? thanks...

it seems like the oc potential of my video card was shortened with the installation of my new heatsink... is this possible? i got a very high max core/mem clocks (550/540 <-- no artifacts) when i was still using my stock cooler. now that i've installed my new heatsink (silencer4), i can go over 540 core clock, but i can't get my mem clock go pass 480... is this possible? is it really because of my heatsink? or just because of driver problems?
