Sounds like a fun project to me. It may not be optimal but who cares?

Depends on what you define as optimal? Optimal investment? 3dmark for buck?

But yes, it sounds fun

This all started cause I can sell mine x850xt and get either one 7600gt or 2x 7300gt dd3 for that money. And no, I'm not in the mood for spending a dime more on gfx.

Some fun links: 2x7300gt sli doing 11k '05 marks
more 7300gt sli results
single 7300gt doing 7.1K '05 marks
single 7300 7.4k '05

If anyone can dig up some similar links for 7600gt, I'd be more than grateful.
Also all these mad 7300GT scores seem to be made with no special cooling on the cards which is NICE.

My grlfriend's 7300gt ddr3 gets up to 52C on load (stock cooler) vs 70c load on my x850xt w zalman vf-700cu.

I don't see how a 7300GT beats a 7600GT (or GS) but then again, maybe I just don't know Nvidia. :) :) Anywho, if you can get 2 7300GT 256MB DDR3 and run SLI, sounds like a winner to me.

-The Eagle :toast:

Well the plain old 7300gt ddr2 can't quite compete here cause its stock 350/325 clocks (and ddr2). Compare it to the 7300gt ddr3 stock 500/700, you get the idea...And 7300gt ddr3 OC just nicely :)

2x $96=$192 :)

But after talk with a friend who runs a HW store, I'm not so hot on the prospect of any SLI :/
Says he had many problems with all the SLI setups he sold. Same with another friend who works at a different HW store.
:/

Well, I'm off to buy a multimeter, and hopefully tonight I'll know how much can this single 7300gt ddr3 go :p

If it passes 6500 in '05, then 7300GT it is :D

Guess again :)
The cheapest 1950pro here is $290
I listed some local prices in the thread. I know that somewhere in the developed world I can get stuff cheaper, but for now I have to stick to what I can get here in my banana republic.

Now, on the bright side, I just bagged my self a nice multimeter and figured out how it works (don't laugh, this is my first time with a multimeter) so maybe later tonight I'll have some news as what this 7300gt ddr3 can do :rockout:
