This is about what I expected, and I'm glad they mentioned fsb limitations with Quad, because some people end up surprised when their Quad can't match a C2D overclock.

Yeah man, I was really pleased with that aspect of the review. Really interesting read, can't wait to read more.

I'm still a fan of Dual cores as shown in the review many games still today dont use 4 cores, so best bet if your a gamer get the cheaper E8400, or the E8500

If your a gamer yeah, but I also plan on doing more CPU intensive stuff such as video editing and photomanipulation. That's where the extra 2 cores would come in handy.

The Q9450 is the most interesting for me. 12MB x8 multi at the price of Q6600. But maybe I'll wait for another stepping which OCs better. For example 4GHz 24/7 stable OC.

The E8400 is also interesting and maybe it's better buy considering that there isn't a 4 threads optimized application yet. Most of them will have no problems running stable 24/7 @4.5GHz.

i think most E8400s would have major problems running at 4.5 gig 500 x 9 fsb 24/7..

not saying it isnt possible.. just not as easy or practical as u make out.. :)

I've been looking at the Q9450 but it's still pretty expensive here in the UK, if it drops to the price of the Q6600 then I'll be extremely tempted to get it along with some stupidly expensive DDR3.
