ok well thanks allot for all the info, scaminatrix for talking to your mate, and for all the general advice.

I know that i should just save up but to someone who after food and bills has under a tenner left that is a very long wait when i car needs new tyers and brake shoes. But anyway first port of call will be microsoft ill keep you guys informed of how it all goes if your interested.

Thanks again, by far the best tech forum everyones very helpful.

PS please dnt start a 'heated-disscussion' about the registration proccess :D

edit: checked on the microsoft website and apparently it is out of warrenty:( I dont realy see the point in spending money on the xclamp fix posted it it is only a short term fix seems a waste of money otherwise think i may go and get a ps3 there products actualy work

true i ur guess right on the ps3 front and part of me wished i had just stuck to my pc and spent the money on upgrading it. Its just since playing on a 360 i can see why they are so popular i mean graphically pc's are superior but only by an amount where during normal gameplay you cannot tell, wilst they do have the potential to be much better. Ill just miss the ease of sitting in my front room and having a fallout session rather then loading up the rig upstairs oh well guess i have no choice, if i did have it reflowed does that normally last longer then the xclamp fix and if so by how much?

consoles have good value. the new XBOX 360 slim only cost $199 it has a smaller chassis, smaller power brick, touch sensitive controls, internal wifi, less noisy, no RROD. my Corsair Dominator kit cost more.

I've had 2 consoles in my hands that were dead from RROD. X-Clamp fixed both and I've not had either die on me yet.1st one I fixed like 6 months ago, the 2nd about 3 months ago. The kits cost maybe $2 or $3 on ebay and it only take about an hour to do. Worth a shot IMO, otherwise I can take it off your hands if you can ship to the states for cheap. :p

So you want him to ship a PAL 360 to the US? Don't be silly. It would cost a packet!
