So how do we post that kind of thread? I see some long running threads don't have this and new ones that have been opened after the upgrade don't have it either. Is it restricted to certain subforums? From XF's post, it looks like for now it's just a moderator thing, unless I'm missing something.

You can select whatever piece you want to reply to and leave out the rest. You can even do it on mobile (I can do it on my prehistoric Lumia phone, no way you can't do it on any Android/iOS phone running a relatively recent Chrome/Firefox/Safari version), and it's been a feature for years.

By the way, I like that the quotes appear as their own box thing while I'm writing a reply and not as part of the rest of text with just some code indicating that it's a quote (though that's still visible if I toggle BB code)

Annnnnd just testing the GIF feature which has GIPHY integration :laugh:

I'll admit that I have a little worry that people are gonna start unnecessarily spamming heavy GIFs in the forums, but I hope that everyone has a little restraint

By the way, there is a video insertion feature but it doesn't seem to work. Are we supposed to actually use that?

Still learning, seems it has to be enabled on a per-forum basis, which makes sense

It has always been like that iirc?

The problem is that on mobile they collapse the logo with the navigation, which means blue background.

I could make the logo background white on mobile:

Not sure how locked in you are about the color logo branding but perhaps a more vivid logo where you use a brighter color for the Tech & Up

Tech and Up could be revolted white for that icon maybe? If a full site-wide dark mode is ever implemented that’ll need to be done anyway.

White would be better because right now it all blends into power at low enough brightness.

Sorry to start the new years with a rather gloomy post but I prefer the old style feature that images, pictures and other elements are already loaded when a page/tab has finished loading instead, now, those elements are loaded when scrolled into view. This can cause waiting time to see what is suppose to be there & might cause users to accidentally miss the image/element when scroll-skimming as this would happen on slow network due to congested bandwidth or whatever else reason there is.

What is this feature called anyway? And will there be an selectable option to switch this feature?

Go with just the icon, no text. That's consistent with the rest of the navbar. Expand the logo as the navbar expands.

"Lazy loading" eh... Nice, simple, lazy, dumb and easy-to-remember feature name. :laugh:

Since I am used to scroll-skimming through the pages, the slow loading effect would throw me off as it has for other websites that also does this. And this could do the same to me on this forum during peak hours when most of my customers would take up most of the bandwidth. The complete loading during page loading is better for my case as I could be doing something else while pages/tabs are loading and it won't break my immersion.

Also noticed this too. And two other issues(points?):
- The "OP" logo is missing from the profile pics of the original poster whereas before it was located on the top right corner of a original poster's profile picture.
- Don't know if this applies to this new version of the software or not but age hasn't been updated yet to transition during birthday. My age when hovering on profile name or profile picture is still showing as 16 when I'm suppose to be 17 now. I guess I'll wait tomorrow to see if this number changes after today.

Aesthetically, this new version is better though. Just would need to get used to the changes.
