That's right, Micron Technology, Kingston, etc are looking good with demand going up this year. Time to buy stock. (spending money on creating memories).
LOL. Any good parent understands what I mean. Sorry for going so off topic....

Think of it as new rims for your car or something . These seem worth it! But at the same time unecessary!

Can't wait to see how this turns out :rockout:

Posted this somewhere else, so don't shoot me:
Unfortunately it's fake (besides the fact that it's just a render), and if you look closer there aren't enough ventilation holes for the air exhaust of the 2nd GPU. Also the fan is right on top of the PLX bridge chip, and that's just not doable at the moment. The fan on dual GPU ATI cards will always be at the end of the card for now (at least until they drop the PLX bridge chip). The distance between the two GPUs would be similar to the GTX295 for such a design, and the PCIe power plugs are following the current reference design of the HD5970. So, in a nutshell it's a GTX5970 ...

Strange in that article it sounded like they were bad mouthing Nvidia saying that the card will blow away all of Nvidia's offerings.
The normal 5970 already does, so it is a no brainer. ;)

nah i think they were trying to go for the ' XFX 5970 Weapon' effect. As you can see the design on the side of the gun.

As in XFX 5970, your weapon in gaming. That type of marketing shite.

But human_error is correct you could easily pass those clocks underwater and for alot cheaper price.

First of all, if you are going to spend $1000 on a graphics card, you either have too much money or you really need to get out of the house and find a girlfriend. Second, if the card has a non-reference PCB then I'd worry about overclocking limitations, as you won't be able to adjust voltage.
Of course there is a market. I'm just saying it's a crap load of cash for any computer component. I'd rather take the cash and spend a weekend in Aruba with the wife, but hey that's just me. :D
Ouch.. that's harsh.

Wile E throw your i7 980X at Paul and have your wife roundhouse kick him. :p

said XFX, in a statement to Nordic Hardware. "GTX480 and GTX470 are upon us, but perhaps the time has come to Ferm up who really has the big Guns."

How things change, XFX once a loyal and solid partner of Nvidia, teaming up with the enemy (money calls); I still remember my dead XFX GeForce2

Could you imagine Sapphire making GeForce? :nutkick:

This is excellent for competition, I don't wanna think of a world with a gpu monopoly.

I know, but many of these product art designers knock things off now and then. For example, Gigabyte made an obese Iron Man knockoff on its Ultra Durable VGA marketing.

Wow I would as well! $1K would be meaning €2K over here :(

Funniest thing I've read all day. On a serious note, I'm rather fond of my "small byproducts". They make my days brighter than any computer ever could.
unless you were like Tiger and used a projector as a monitor then stared directly into the beam...

I love kids though too and I'm glad you appreciate them more than your computer. Good father :)

Most hobbies are asininely expensive. You know how much people spend on skiing, snowboarding or surfing? I have a friend that ordered $10,000 in blank skateboards for no reason. This pc shit is a hobby, with the added bonus of actually being used every day unlike that other crap. In that respect it's not that absurd for people to spend that much.
