Dear all TechPowerUP community,
i'm a new boy in town (maybe not a boy but a men already with 24 years), and I need your help.
I've been experiring some issues with my video card XFX R7 260x 2048MB, with blackscreen, reboots and others.
I tried checking temperature, the power supply, cables, etc. Everything was find.
Yesterday I decided to try the last thing I had in mind, upgrade vbios for the graphic card. I did it, but something went wrong and I lost the back up for the original ROM.
Now, the situation that I have is that, you can turn the PC on, use it with the graphic card, but just for normal usage, but not for games, as the drivers don't recognize the graphic card. When you go to "Admin devices", you see there is a graphic card, as "Unknown device" or sometimes, it works as "Microsoft Graphic Card" or something like that. WHen you try to install drivers, you can get 2 points:
BSOD with atikmdag.sys file failing or
"This driver or device is not commpatible with this platform".
Is there any way to get it back to normal? i mean, is better to have it rebooting like nothing, at least until I can save money to buy a new one (i'm planning to buy a XFX 480 8GB, what do you think?
Thanks in advance.
