$1550! That's definitely a placeholder price, only the stupid wealthy would pay that.

XFX really outdid themselves this time!
I sense sarcasm......

Thats the normal price for products in the north of europe unfortunetely.
The promissed price of 699 is just that promises, that wont stick...

Todays price for the 7990 = 6486 Dkk (1212 us$ / 882 euro€)
https://www.fcomputer.dk/hardware/g...dk&utm_medium=agregate&utm_campaign=priser.dk
780 = 5752 Dkk (1075 us$/782 euro€)
https://www.fcomputer.dk/hardware/g...dk&utm_medium=agregate&utm_campaign=priser.dk
I don't know about the north but here in the south is 606€ for the 7990 and 565 for the 780

You have to take into account that Proshop needs a cut, rather than the standard supplier/retailer set price that is pretty common in the states.

Not to mention MOMS, supply & demand.

I would love that, and not be sitting on my 5830 for as long as i had..
for 606 usd (3242 Dkk) the best we can get is:
770 phantom
http://www.edbpriser.dk/grafikkort/gainward-geforce-gtx-770-phantom-4-gb-id-7413757.aspx
or 7950
http://www.edbpriser.dk/grafikkort/sapphire-radeon-hd-7950-detailsalg-3-gb-id-6553922.aspx
Hell even the 580 is up there :)
http://www.edbpriser.dk/grafikkort/evga-geforce-gtx-580-15-gb-id-4403001.aspx

But i agree, supply and demand is not really there, and heavely taxation is the propable cause.. .
Supply is non existent, and demand is headed ti resellers outside Denmark for the better prices..(chicken and the egg syndrome)

You're likely to get hit with an import tax notice, especially at something costing that much.

Acctually i got my last motherboard and cpu from germany, and they have a 19% vat (moms) compared to 25% in DK.. i was happy with that purchase.. within the EU you need only to pay the vat from the place of purchase.. and Eu regulations prevent them from putting on a import tax..

Proshops cut is small, they move quantities instead. They're often pretty cheap, but the site is terrible.

Anyway those are some WICKED prices you have in denmark urslen. The GTX 780 can be had for about €550 here, the 7990 €680. And if you live in Denmark I have closer to Murmansk than you, "north" is not an absolute term. :D

Try ebay or amazon. You don't need to pay any taxes, just the price on site.

Back when I still played Magic the Gathering I bought a P9 card on ebay from the US.
Nearly cried when I got the import tax bill...
There I was thinking I had made a great deal, then I got faceraped by the import tax of 30-33%.

@OC-Rage - All too often some web shops will use an obviously too-large price as a sign of "not in stock" for some reason.

However, I see you also posted an almost fanboi type message in the nvidia 780Ti thread ... do post a bit less trollishly in the future.

:)

That's sick. But you have to specify it as a gift or personal item to the seller; NOT brand new!
Then again, I only buy from EU Amazon and e-bay...

Yeah, he forgot to specify it as gift. Luckily he was kind enough to pay back half of the tax.
Since then I also hardly ever take the 'risk' to buy something from outside the EU.

How is import tax in Greenland? I guess transport would be the biggest price gauger in your country?
