Xigmatek HDT-S1283 or OCZ Vendetta 2

their very very similar coolers. but given the choice which one would you pick???

Vendetta 2 usually hits very close to the Xig so its about price and style really!

Agreed. I ran OCZ Vendetta 2 on my old LGA775/Quad setup and it was pretty good. However, both Xigmatek and OCZ offering are HDT based so you really can't go wrong with either one of them. From my research they are almost identical aside from the fan. It really comes down to the price and brand preference.

according to the review of both on hardwarecanucks they are the same cooler only that ocz improved it a bit, so go for it

i was wonderign this also because i see a lot of people getting the dark knight xig and a few the ocz

i suppose its price really isnt it

apart from that thors thingy seems to be a good one if a little bit dearer

The vendetta is very long so you might not be able to close your case door. The S1283 isn't so you would be able to with it.

just googled it. if it fits in a Antec 900 with no problems then it should be fine in a Antec 902

The Xig fit in my 900 but hit the door fan bits, I removed the door fan all together as its sort of pointless with a tower cooler.

I've got an OCZ Vendetta 2, it's like a week or 2 old and it's great.
Keeps my E6750 @ 3.68ghz at 32~37 idle and under 55 on load with Ream Temp

What processor are you putting it on?

These things are tall for sure. Like Tatty I had to take the fan off my side vent to get it to squeeze in there. Check the measurements of your case first. I think that the original Vendetta is shorter since it uses a 92mm fan. If you are not cooling a quad (like I am) then the Vendetta 1 may do for you.

I have 2 Vendetta originals on an E8400 and E8200 and a Vendetta 2 on my Q6600. They are awesome heatsinks for the price.

The Xigmatek, it has slightly more coverage and a thinner plate for the CPU. It is also several degrees lower than the Vendetta if on idle with a C2Q.
