the crossbow is the way to go, the pushpins dont offer near the pressure, and is likely why the temps are a tad high. Also you may want to pull the cooler to see that the TIM actually made good contact in the first place;) But you will see that when the crossbow comes.

It couldn't hurt to try upping the fan speeds as well.

Why don't you load the CPU while using your hand to push down on the Xiggy 1284, see if that improves pressure. If it does, buy the crossbow. If not, look into better fans.

oh yes..
and the fans @ 2000RPM just make the temps just 2C lower..

and its freaking loud..
the TIM is spreaded nicely
and my E7400 is lapped..
is anything wrong?
and when i touch the heatsink its cold.

If it's cold that means it's not drawing away enough heat.

Like I said, push down on your heatsink and stress your CPU. If you see better temperatures that means you need more pressure between the heatsink & cpu.

60C in load is perfect fine but you should try a Bolt-Thru retention system. I HATE push-pins.
How did you apply TIM on heatsink base? For HDT it's a special method.

yea i'd say not enough pressure is being applied. i mean even with our ambients probly being different(mind i have a cold room in the basement) my quad stays at 56-58load so there's something wrong there for certain. do as others said and apply more pressure to your heatsink and see if that helps.

I think those temps are pretty much the norm.

I have the 1283 heatsink and when I had a E5200 the temps were higher at load. that's because I had a higher overclock and 1.4 volts.

It's been said and said and said.. And I'll say it again, crossbow!

Bolt through kits FTW, also make sure your case has good ventilation and that the hot air can get out of the case quickly.

the fans on a Xig range from 60 CFM on up to almost 90CFM depending on model of Xigmatek. Really any strong fan shoud work, no need to break the bank on fans;)

because the low static pressure..
is there any better fans?
and please not more than 8$ per fan

The CoolerMaster R4 should be fine, I use one on my Xig Dark Knight and although it doesn't seem like it pushes near 90CFM of air, the performance is fine.

Are you sure than fans are setup in push pull correctly?
