When I have XMP mode on for my ram my pc restarts like as soon as I get into a game. I have the Patriot Viper 4 Blackout 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL17 Memory with a Ryzen 5 3600 cpu. Is there a easy fix to the XMP mode problem? I'm guessing it's just that the 3600mhz is a little too unstable or something. In that case how would I go about overclocking to like 3200mhz? Since the only options for profiles are default and that 1 xmp mode, and I'm not sure how to get 3200mhz with the correct voltage or whatever. Thanks for reading

Don't use XMP, try and set the speed manually with the same timings from the XMP profile, then if it's unstable loosen the timings bit by bit.

You bought cas 17 ram, that's the prob. To run odd numbered cas ram, you have to disable geardown mode. Why is that, because geardown mode halves the timing speed and you can't half odd numbers. This in order to run your ram at it's advertised timing you'll have to disable gdm.

Or just run an alternate timing set...
