an old thread but the asus all core enhancement setting is puzzling me.. it comes up when you select the xpm memory setting..

initially i just selected yes without thinking about it.. now i am thinking about it.. it does add around 12 C to the cpu load temps.. this is a lot..

its not just an auto overclocking setting as some people in this thread seem to think.. even with everything else set at default (not overclocked) the cpu load tempts do up by this 12 C amount..

this is as measured by real temp.. say no to it and my temps are around 60 C say yes and they go up to 70 C.. everything else seems to be the same..

i am still trying to figure it out.. i always have thought my 7700k runs hotter than it should do..

That would be cause the all core enhancement forces all cores to run at the highest one core Turbo setting. So if you enabled the setting for a i7-7700K all cores would be running overclocked to 4.5 GHz instead of one core at 4.5 GHz.

it would seem that its just running the faster xmp memory speeds that boosts my cpu tempts.. on my asus board the "all core enhancement" yes or no option is over ridden by other settings like sync all cores..

my last board was a gigabyte.. i had that figured out but i still havnt really figured out the asus bios setting..

one thing i am sure of is that running the memory at 3200 adds about 6 C to my cpu tempts.. heat is the problem with these 7700K chips and i know de-lidding is the only answer.. currently i have mine set to run at 5000 mhz with a drop to 4800 mhz when things like prime 95 are detected.. the asus bios is clever enough to let you do this.. it lets you add a minus offset for avx instructions.. mine is set at -2..

with a minus 2 offset some prime 95 instruction sets still take it up very close to intels 100C throttle point.. it games around 80 C which is hotter than i like but it will do..

my perfectly adequate (cool running) 4790K system died on me with less than two years use.. both mobo and cpu failed.. one probably failed and took the other out but i am not sure which went first.. having spent near on £1000 on replacement parts which included having to buy a new f-cking install of window 10 pro i aint keen on things like delidding this chip just yet..
