for 24\7 i would not like it but that's me.
does it only raise vccsa or vccio too
just try setting it to 1,25 or even lower 1,20 and test with linpack extreme from regeneration - even the short benchmark is easily finding instabilities on my x99 rig

Go low, it does influence temps quite a bit. Shaving off volts here gives more headroom elsewhere. When you get WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT bluescreens, back off to your previous step :)

1.2V seems high to me but that is going on Coffee Lake info, so might be dated, its a good starting point in any case. My MB defaulted on 1.21v I believe (for 8700k, mind). You might be able to push it down another 0.05v. I ran into instability from 1.1v and lower. Same for VCCIO, really - but you run faster RAMs so you might need a bit more here too.

But finally a CPU over 9000, its about damn time eh :D Ten point five, even. :p

yeah the temps will drop for sure

the 10500 is supposed to be a placeholder really, but seeing how it performs it may stick around for a while.
I had trouble keeping 1% lows at 65 in big open world games like odyssey and origins, got 10500 thinking it should do +65 at least.I'm getting 80.

Yep that sounds similar to my Total War A-Ha erlebnis. Mind was certainly blown :) And from here on out the potential gain is much less pronounced. Welcome to the sweet spot, again ;)

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
I've been waiting on a 10900k or 10980xe at a reasonable price for weeks now... :(

Prices are not likely to drop anytime soon with the current state of the world I reckon... Even basic things seem to slowly creep up as businesses recoup their losses one way or another. Nobody wants to say it out loud..

should've gotten that 8700k in 2017
I aint complaning tho.
got myself previous gen i7 performance at 60% price, some crazy ass ram at a surprisingly decent price and a board with 4.0 and RKL support.
runs like crazy for a 45w in-game power draw cpu

Its more a matter of these CPUs being vaporware than anything. :(

10850k is coming
also likely to be vaporware. :(

changed vccsa from auto to normal, dropped from 1.308 to 1.056v o_Oo_Oo_O
retarded auto setting but I guess some of the worst imc's require that to run the fastest sticks, hence the huge discrepancy.

will test temperatures and tdp in game.I'm afraid it'd be too cool.It aleady ran 10 degrees and 20w cooler than my 5775c.

Per Intel:
  • 1.2V or lower = Best for DDR4
  • 1.35V = okay voltage for overclocking kits
  • 1.5V =absolute max voltage allowed for Intel XMP 2.0 profiles and max suggested voltage
“1.5v is the absolute max we allow for XMP certifications. However, good DDR4 memory will run at 1.35v up to 3200. Technically, no “safe” (guaranteed) OC over-voltage but 1.35v or lower is best.”
