XP on 4.5 gigs ???

Hi.

Just got my hand on a dumped freaking old computer.

Penitum 2 350 mhz slot1
96 megs ram
ATI 3D Rage IIC AGP
Hard disk 4.5 gigs

How can it be to install XP pro sp2 on this shit and get it to roll so quick at same time ?

I will probably install Xubuntu on it and use it as junk for outside when i do my car repairs.

If there is a CD player make sure that's booting 1st then you should see it ask some thing on the lines of boot from cd ?.

The other requires part of ms dos and running the setup file which is in the i386 folder.

MSDX some thing comes to mind to get the cd player to work in dos but i think that if the cd was not bootable and\or you wanted to make a custom instal haha.. i am sure if ya looked you find what ya need :p..

I think you misunderstood.

The system is already on it but how the hell could someone fit XP pro on a 4.5 gigs hard disk drive? Not a USB stick but a HARD DISK DRIVE.

The cd player boot at startup and the chipset is Intel Itx440 something like this.

I started with a WD 800MB then upto 3.2GB Fireball drive back in 00.

There are stripped down "lite" versions of XP out there that take up less than 1gb.

Thank you. I will look at it and use that rig for net surfing only. Maybe overclock the shit out of it at a nice 425 mhz :p
