First drop bios to defaults, then check, does your MB support your ram, if its not helping. leave only one stick of memory and run memtest, if error found - remove stick, place another stick in Dimm 1 and run test again, if error, couninue step one test. if no errors try to boot.

stop, breathe, now go into your bios, rest all default settings, restart, go into bios up imc/vtt to 1.4v that should be enough for 12gb. then run memtest with all sticks in again

CORRECT BIOS?

IS THIS YOUR BOARD? http://gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3571#bios F3e Beta Bios..

There are several x58 boards, some with different manufacture revisions (same board two versions...)

On the memory: what is the posted speed of memory and is it ddr1600? I would try 3 main slots (grey), not all 6 to start OR follow overclocking101 advice above for all 6. Manual pg.16.

Advanced Memory Settings Tab in Bios set XMP to Enable...pages 38 & 39 in Manual. That should allow mobo to read the speed settiings of the memory correctly at a (2t/2n setting...most universal)

Windows 7.... 32 or 64bit? Home, Pro, Ultimate? PLEASE REVISE SYSTEM SPEC PAGE. I believe Home edition has memory limitations in 32 and 64 bit versions.

Remove the battery for a few minutes. Or, look in the manual, find the clear CMOS jumper and do it that way. Make sure the board is powered down at the time.

lmfao...battery??

What's funny? It's the round shiny thing on your motherboard. They've been there forever. You should really read through your manual.

Have you not read what erocker said about upping some voltages??

yes i read it but im trying someone ells suggestion, if ya seen the comments above...."reset bios and scan all memory again." so i have done that and the memory came up error once again, but the timings also showed the same as above(wrong)....so should i scan each stick solo?? or would i have to set the 1600 memory to the correct timings first?
would the error, show up if the memory is set wrong? also how do i set it?

Take out all ram except one(put the single stick in DIMM 1) and then rescan, if no errors then move to another stick and continue until you have scanned all sticks. once you located your bad stick/s* you can install whatever you have good until you get new RAM

Yeah you should but you should work with the 1st set of 3 sticks (based on what came in the package) to make sure there is no problem. Then the other 3 sticks. If you havent' done so already.

Set the ram timings to the setting that the ram says its stock, you may also set the stock speed and voltage as well

holy flip calm down, rome wasn't built in a day

your memory should run just fine at default speeds, worry about xmp profiles later ;)

like has been said before (and this will take time) switch of the computer and take all but 1 stick out, then run memtest, then after it's run, switch your pc on and boot it properly
then run a memory intensive program, if all is well switch off pc and take good memory out and put it to one side (preferably in it's box)

repeat until bad stick is found voila ;)

XMP is a shortcut to get to the programmed ram settings provided by the vendor and it is on the memory stick. It is also known as the SPD: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_Presence_Detect

Scroll down to DDR3 then a little further for XMP/Intel.

So using XMP should get you there faster. Once the memory is correctly set then raise the voltage for all 6 banks.

Here is a comment off newegg website for ddr2000:

Manufacturer Response:
.
Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you are having issues with this memory package. This memory package is above the standard, so manual settings will be required. On AUTO, the motherboard will not be able to detect the proper memory settings to operate the memory. The easiest way to configure the memory is by enabling the XMP Profile. Afterwards, you will simply need to find the lowest stable value for QPI/DRAM Voltage (memory controller), and the system should operate fine. If you feel you need assistance with this, please contact our technical support department and they will be able to assist you.

Thank you
