Yet another Case FAN topic and which Fans to choose

After 12 months with open case for some reason I should put back the top cover. This is depicted blue in the Fractal Design Meshify 2 Manual.

I want to ask if I should purchase 1x Noctua NF-A14x25 G2 PWM Sx2-PP, Dual Fan Set for Push-Pull and Side-by-Side Applications (Brown)?

Fan 1 stays, Blow outside = Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM Quiet Premium Fan 4-Pin (120 mm, Brown)

I want to buy (5) & (6) a pack of
Noctua NF-A14x25 G2 PWM Sx2-PP, Dual Fan Set for Push-Pull and Side-by-Side Applications (Brown)

and mechanically block (7)

For money saving purposes the positions (2) / (3) / (4) I will reuse the fans which came with the case - fractal design dynamic x2 gp-14 (3 pin only / 1000 rpm) I still have the option to swap those later.

I'm was not very happy with

Arctic P14 / P12 - at least 3 RPM Ranges with nasty frequency which annoys me.
Be Quiet Pure wings 2 - low performance - were taken out myself from a new B-Q Pure base 500 Case.

I do not want to reuse the existing Arctic P14 or Arctic P12 fans. It seems I changed to the more quiet computer type over the past few years.

--

My focus is quiet operation. I have Powercolor 7800xt hellhound / quite noisy Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 5 CPU tower cooler.

It seems these are similar fans, a pack of 2, and 3 € cheaper:
Noctua NF-A14x25 G2 PWM Sx2-PP, Dual Fan Set for Push-Pull and Side-by-Side Applications (Brown)
compared with
Noctua NF-A14x25 G2 PWM Premium Quality Quiet 140mm PC Fan 4-Pin (Brown)

I also think those rubber things noctua provides and arctic does not provide may reduce a little bit of annoying frequencies I hear.

Just curious why the small text size ?

Anyways, in the set-up you have pictured, fan #4 is essentially worthless and will do little to nothing, except disrupt the incoming airflow from fans 2 & 3....

And why, specifically, do you want to block #7, or ANY air outlet for that matter ?

I'm just trying to understand your logic here :D

And yes, those little rubber thingies are meant to reduce vibrations, and therefore some/most of the resulting noise, especially if running the fans at high RPM...

Arctic fans have rubber mount holes but not on every model.
I have Arctic P14 Max and Arctic BioniX F140 and both have rubber

Thanks. I tried to remove the different font sizes. I just found the proper button and fixed first post.

I´ve got a noctua and another bequiet setup.

I like how both of them sound.

The noctua fan-setup is a little quieter if ordered to do the same job.

I mention the bequiet ones since the are also available in white.

Here you can listen and judge yourself:

fyi - the noctua G2 ones are really great! But they don´t have the metal inner casing anymore and don´t run as smooth nor are they as sturdy as the 120mm ones.

You can always add rubber mounts to fans (cause I see that Your case is big enough to use it in front for sure I don't know if it will fit top). On some chinese site there is a ton of it :)

Ech because of You I will buy some for myself :D Cause my Noctua industrial 140mm PWM is lately a little bit to loud, but it worked everyday for a few years now ^^ (And I'm not that soft on my hardware lately)

#6 Wow. Cool. I should get a pack and test with the existing arctic p14 / p12 and fractal fans

I am afraid there is not much choice for quiet fans

Noctua NF-A14x25 G2 PWM Sx2-PP, Dual Fan Set for Push-Pull and Side-by-Side Applications (Brown)

Especially in the section for the cpu tower cooler, position 5 and 6 from my first post.

I've got arctic p14 max, and it is almost silent on around 800 rpm.
What mobo You have, and if there is option to set fans speed by voltage?, or the case fans only spins 1000 rpm?
Cause in my case I'm using fans that are setup to around 800 rpm, and only with load they are audible.
And what temps are in case, Cause You can make some fans to stay at 0 rpm for just browsing, and start to work if there is what to dissipate.
My top fans and front middle intake is set to 0 rpm, but bottom front is working always to get cool air for the gpu.
Here Guy has some comparison of some fans there and sound.
If You are lucky enough You can get 5pack of arctic p14 max for 30% more than one noctua fan :D

Most of my desktop hardware is

Fractal design meshify 2 case
asus prime x670-p mainboard --- it has pwm and dc operation mode for 3 and 4 pin fans
powercolor 7800xt hellhound graphic card
enermax revolution d.f. 750w psu
kc3000 2tb nvme
be quiet dark rock pro 5 - cpu tower cooler
reuseable cable ties

-- Fans are expensive. The desire for proper quiet fans is very big. I also want to active cool my dram.

the arctic max version seems to be newer on the market. i think they did not exists in the past

I've got 6 Lian-Li Uni fan V2's in my case they're pretty good not the most silent of fans at high speed but certainly not the harshest sounding fans I've had either

They appeared around year ago i think.
And one more thing from which region are You, cause then it is easier to pinpoint what You can get in Your market.
Is Your motherboard sensing gpu temps too in bios?

I´m a fan of recycling old parts.

You still got the accessories from the the z790 apex?

Its DDR5 fan cooler should work. Tight but possible from below. Maybe you´ll have to toy with a dremel a bit.

I use a flat 60mm fan from one of my SSD coolers. Runs silent at 1500 and can ramp up to 4000 rpm.

If you are shelling out the kind of money to buy Noctua, instead see if you can fit the T30 from Phanteks. Now those are proper fans. I bet if you drop them the floor breaks, Nokia 3310 style.
