    1. Battlefield 1942 - DC Mod
    2. Battlefield Bad Company
    3. Goldeneye

There was some co-op ones I played on PS1. They got bad reviews, but thats because they were INSANELY hard, and I would assume almost impossible solo. But using teamwork the game was a blast, they had 2 or 3 in the series, I can't remember their names though, but those would be my 4th and 5th.

Without a doubt.. The original Unreal Tournament 1999!! There has never been a game that was more fun to play online. I remember the days of fragging away on my Dell 400mhz PC with my Diamond Viper2 running in S3 MeTaL. Oh the memories.. I know.. Im old.

There have only been a handful of FPS that have really left a significantly favourable impression on me, even many years after playing them.

They are in order of release:

    Doom
    Doom II
    Quake
    Half Life
    Half Life 2

And unfortunately that is it for me.

Everything else was too dull or flawed or just not my cup of tea.

I hope that RAGE and Half Life 3 will be able to join that list.

Call Of Duty .... the first one.

Can't be beaten in my opinion. Still the best single player and multi player game ever made.

Thief I and II - hey it's an fps - first person SNEAKER :p
    System shock 2
    Half-life series
Vampire the masquerade: Bloodlines - not that much of a shooter but still pretty close
    Bioshock
Delta force - the first one was just awesome back in the days
Sin - Great multiplayer, lots of fun just like DF
    Quake 1,2,3 - fun MP
Fallout 3 - same as Vampire, only if you can call it a shooter

edit: Dang how could i forget my first MP shooter: Duke nukem 3D
