ZAGG Inc., a leading mobile device accessories company, today announces the availability of the Boost NearField Audio speaker under the iFrogz brand. Presented for the first time at the 2012 International CES, the Boost is a small, portable audio amplification unit that is compatible with any external speaker device, including mobile phones and MP3 players.

The iFrogz Boost speaker allows users to amplify their device's sound by simply placing their smartphone, or other device equipped with an external speaker, on top of the Boost. The Boost features patent-pending audio technology to sync the external audio signal and then amplify the sound through two high-quality 2 W x 2 RMS speakers. No wires, cords, Bluetooth or pairing configuration is needed. The Boost fits in the palm of the hand, measuring a little over 1 inch high by less than 3 inches wide and less than 5 inches long, and weighs only 5.9 ounces (without batteries).

"We are dedicated to providing innovative mobile device accessories that enhance the mobile experience," says Ben Godfrey, VP of Product Development at ZAGG's iFrogz division. "The Boost is a useful and unique accessory that we know our customers will love."

The Boost gives up to 15 hours of play time when powered by three AA batteries, or can be powered by a Micro USB cord (sold separately). When on battery power, it can remain in standby mode for up to 6 months.

The Boost retails for $39.99 and can be found with other iFrogz branded product offerings at iFrogz.com.

Hmm... take a mediocre external phone speaker sound and amplify it. You end up with loud mediocre external phone speaker sound.

Pass... Give me an audio jack, or bluetooth.

I really have not found anything that has sound quality TO IT ...ESPECIALLY when it's blue tooth capable. Maybe I am looking in the wrong spots. not that this is but just saying.
