The FireGL V5600 was a high-end professional graphics card by ATI, launched in June 2007. Built on the 65 nm process, and based on the RV630 graphics processor, in its RV630 GL variant, the card supports DirectX 10.0. Since FireGL V5600 does not support DirectX 11 or DirectX 12, it might not be able to run all the latest games. The RV630 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 153 mm² and 390 million transistors. It features 120 shading units, 8 texture mapping units, and 4 ROPs. ATI has paired 512 MB GDDR4 memory with the FireGL V5600, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 800 MHz, memory is running at 1100 MHz.
Being a single-slot card, the ATI FireGL V5600 does not require any additional power connector, its power draw is rated at 89 W maximum. Display outputs include: 2x DVI. FireGL V5600 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 1.0 x16 interface. Its price at launch was 599 US Dollars.
