The FirePro M5800 was a professional graphics card by ATI, launched in March 2010. Built on the 40 nm process, and based on the Madison graphics processor, in its Madison XT GL variant, the card supports DirectX 11.2. The Madison graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 104 mm² and 627 million transistors. It features 400 shading units, 20 texture mapping units and 8 ROPs. ATI has placed 1,024 MB GDDR5 memory on the card, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 650 MHz, memory is running at 800 MHz.
Its power draw is rated at 26 W maximum. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it. FirePro M5800 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 interface.
