The FirePro M7740 was a professional graphics card by ATI, launched in August 2009. Built on the 40 nm process, and based on the M97 graphics processor, in its M97XT-GL variant, the card supports DirectX 10.1. The M97 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 137 mm² and 826 million transistors. It features 640 shading units, 32 texture mapping units and 16 ROPs. ATI has placed 1,024 MB GDDR5 memory on the card, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 650 MHz, memory is running at 846 MHz.
Being a mxm module card, the ATI FirePro M7740 does not require any additional power connector, its power draw is rated at 60 W maximum. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it. FirePro M7740 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 interface.
