The FirePro S9100 was a professional graphics card by AMD, launched on October 2nd, 2014. Built on the 28 nm process, and based on the Hawaii graphics processor, in its Hawaii GL40 variant, the card supports DirectX 12. The Hawaii graphics processor is a large chip with a die area of 438 mm² and 6,200 million transistors. Unlike the fully unlocked Radeon R9 290X, which uses the same GPU but has all 2816 shaders enabled, AMD has disabled some shading units on the FirePro S9100 to reach the product's target shader count. It features 2560 shading units, 160 texture mapping units, and 64 ROPs. AMD has paired 12 GB GDDR5 memory with the FirePro S9100, which are connected using a 512-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 824 MHz, memory is running at 1250 MHz (5 Gbps effective). Being a dual-slot card, the AMD FirePro S9100 draws power from 1x 6-pin + 1x 8-pin power connector, with power draw rated at 225 W maximum. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it. FirePro S9100 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 interface. The card measures 267 mm in length, 111 mm in width, and features a dual-slot cooling solution.
