The GeForce 9600 GT was a mid-range graphics card by NVIDIA, launched in February 2008. Built on the 65 nm process, and based on the G94 graphics processor, in its G94-300-A1 variant, the card supports DirectX 10.0. The G94 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 240 mm² and 505 million transistors. It features 64 shading units, 32 texture mapping units and 16 ROPs. NVIDIA has placed 512 MB DDR3 memory on the card, which are connected using a 256-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 650 MHz, memory is running at 900 MHz.
Being a single-slot card, the NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT draws power from 1x 6-pin power connectors, with power draw rated at 95 W maximum. Display outputs include: 2x DVI, 1x S-Video. GeForce 9600 GT is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 interface. The card measures 229 mm in length, and features a single-slot cooling solution. Its price at launch was 179 US Dollars.
