The Quadro FX 4000 SDI was a enthusiast-class professional graphics card by NVIDIA, launched in April 2004. Built on the 130 nm process, and based on the NV41 graphics processor, in its NV41 GL variant, the card supports DirectX 9.0c. The NV41 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 225 mm² and 222 million transistors. It features 12 pixel shaders and 5 vertex shaders, 12 texture mapping units and 12 ROPs. Due to the lack of unified shaders you will not be able to run recent games at all (which require unified shader/DX10+ support). NVIDIA has placed 256 MB GDDR3 memory on the card, which are connected using a 256-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 425 MHz, memory is running at 500 MHz.
Being a dual-slot card, the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4000 SDI draws power from 1x 6-pin power connectors, with power draw rated at 150 W maximum. Display outputs include: 2x DVI, 1x S-Video. Quadro FX 4000 SDI is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 1.0 x16 interface. Its price at launch was 4999 US Dollars.
