The Quadro FX 4700 X2 was a enthusiast-class professional graphics card by NVIDIA, launched in April 2008. Built on the 65 nm process, and based on the G92 graphics processor, in its G92-880-A2 variant, the card supports DirectX 10.0. The G92 graphics processor is a large chip with a die area of 324 mm² and 754 million transistors. Quadro FX 4700 X2 combines two graphics processors to increase performance. It features 128 shading units, 64 texture mapping units and 16 ROPs per GPU. NVIDIA has placed 2,048 MB GDDR3 memory on the card, which are connected using a 256-bit memory interface per GPU (each GPU manages 1,024 MB). The GPU is operating at a frequency of 600 MHz, memory is running at 800 MHz.
Being a dual-slot card, the NVIDIA Quadro FX 4700 X2 draws power from 1x 6-pin + 1x 8-pin power connectors, with power draw rated at 226 W maximum. Display outputs include: 2x DVI, 1x S-Video. Quadro FX 4700 X2 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 interface. The card measures 267 mm in length, and features a dual-slot cooling solution. Its price at launch was 2999 US Dollars.
