The Radeon E8870 is a graphics card by AMD, launched in September 2015. Built on the 28 nm process, and based on the Saturn graphics processor, in its Saturn PRO variant, the card supports DirectX 12.0. The Saturn graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 160 mm² and 2,080 million transistors. Unlike the fully unlocked Radeon R9 M280X, which uses the same GPU but has all 896 shaders enabled, AMD has disabled some shading units on the Radeon E8870 to reach the product's target shader count. It features 768 shading units, 48 texture mapping units and 16 ROPs. AMD has placed 4,096 MB GDDR5 memory on the card, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 1000 MHz, memory is running at 1500 MHz.
Being a mxm module card, the AMD Radeon E8870 does not require any additional power connector, its power draw is rated at 75 W maximum. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it.
