The Radeon HD 2900 GT was a graphics card by ATI, launched in November 2007. Built on the 80 nm process, and based on the R600 graphics processor, in its R600 GT variant, the card supports DirectX 10.0. The R600 graphics processor is a large chip with a die area of 420 mm² and 720 million transistors. Unlike the fully unlocked Radeon HD 2900 XTX, which uses the same GPU but has all 320 shaders enabled, ATI has disabled some shading units on the Radeon HD 2900 GT to reach the product's target shader count. It features 240 shading units, 12 texture mapping units and 12 ROPs. ATI has placed 256 MB GDDR3 memory on the card, which are connected using a 256-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 601 MHz, memory is running at 800 MHz.
Being a dual-slot card, the ATI Radeon HD 2900 GT draws power from 1x 8-pin power connectors, with power draw rated at 150 W maximum. Display outputs include: 2x DVI, 1x S-Video. Radeon HD 2900 GT is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 1.0 x16 interface.
