The Radeon Instinct MI250 is a professional graphics card by AMD, launched on November 8th, 2021. Built on the 6 nm process, and based on the Aldebaran graphics processor, in its Aldebaran variant, the card does not support DirectX. Since Radeon Instinct MI250 does not support DirectX 11 or DirectX 12, it might not be able to run all the latest games. Unlike the fully unlocked Radeon Instinct MI250X, which uses the same GPU but has all 14080 shaders enabled, AMD has disabled some shading units on the Radeon Instinct MI250 to reach the product's target shader count. It features 13312 shading units, 832 texture mapping units, and 0 ROPs. AMD has paired 128 GB HBM2e memory with the Radeon Instinct MI250, which are connected using a 8192-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 1000 MHz, which can be boosted up to 1700 MHz, memory is running at 1600 MHz.
Being a dual-slot card, the AMD Radeon Instinct MI250 draws power from 2x 8-pin power connectors, with power draw rated at 500 W maximum. This device has no display connectivity, as it is not designed to have monitors connected to it. Radeon Instinct MI250 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 4.0 x16 interface.
