The Radeon R7 260X was a mid-range graphics card by AMD, launched in October 2013. Built on the 28 nm process, and based on the Bonaire graphics processor, in its Bonaire XTX variant, the card supports DirectX 12. This ensures that all modern games will run on Radeon R7 260X. The Bonaire graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 160 mm² and 2,080 million transistors. It features 896 shading units, 56 texture mapping units, and 16 ROPs. AMD has paired 2,048 MB GDDR5 memory with the Radeon R7 260X, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 1100 MHz, memory is running at 1625 MHz (6.5 Gbps effective).
Being a dual-slot card, the AMD Radeon R7 260X draws power from 1x 6-pin power connector, with power draw rated at 115 W maximum. Display outputs include: 2x DVI, 1x HDMI, 1x DisplayPort. Radeon R7 260X is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 interface. The card measures 170 mm in length, and features a dual-slot cooling solution. Its price at launch was 139 US Dollars.
