The Radeon HD 3850 X3 is a graphics card by ATI that is not released yet. Built on the 55 nm process, and based on the RV670 graphics processor, in its RV670 PRO variant, the card supports DirectX 10.1. The RV670 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 192 mm² and 666 million transistors. Radeon HD 3850 X3 combines three graphics processors to increase performance. It features 320 shading units, 16 texture mapping units and 16 ROPs per GPU. ATI has placed 1,536 MB GDDR3 memory on the card, which are connected using a 256-bit memory interface per GPU (each GPU manages 512 MB). The GPU is operating at a frequency of 669 MHz, memory is running at 850 MHz.
We recommend the ATI Radeon HD 3850 X3 for gaming with highest details at resolutions up to, and including, 1920x1080.
Being a dual-slot card, the ATI Radeon HD 3850 X3 draws power from 1x 8-pin power connectors, with power draw rated at 145 W maximum. Display outputs include: 4x DVI. Radeon HD 3850 X3 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCIe 2.0 x16 interface. The card measures 292 mm in length, and features a dual-slot cooling solution.
