AMD Radeon R5 M230
The Radeon R5 M230 is a graphics card by AMD, launched in January 2014. Built on the 28 nm process, and based on the Jet graphics processor, in its Jet PRO variant, the card supports DirectX 12.0. The Jet graphics processor is a relatively small chip with a die area of only 77 mm² and 1,040 million transistors. Unlike the fully unlocked Radeon R8 M350DX, which uses the same GPU but has all 384 shaders enabled, AMD has disabled some shading units on the Radeon R5 M230 to reach the product's target shader count. It features 320 shading units, 20 texture mapping units and 8 ROPs. AMD has placed 4,096 MB DDR3 memory on the card, which are connected using a 64-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 780 MHz, which can be boosted up to 855 MHz, memory is running at 1000 MHz.
We recommend the AMD Radeon R5 M230 for gaming with highest details at resolutions up to, and including, 1024x768.
Being a igp card, its power draw is not exactly known. Radeon R5 M230 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCIe 3.0 x8 interface.
