ASUS Announces Three New G-Sync Compatible Monitors With 0.5 ms Response Times and 165 Hz Refresh Rates

ASUS has launched three new monitors that are being marketed as G-Sync compatible - not as FreeSync-capable. These span three diagonal sizes in the form of the 27-inch VG278QR, the 24.5-inch VG258QR, and the 24-inch VG248QG. All share the same 1,920 x 1,080, TN panels that boast of blazing fast response times (ASUS quotes 0.5 ms), and high-ceiling refresh rates of 165 Hz for fluid gameplay. Additionally, ASUS claims they take their G-Sync Compatible monitors through a two-stage certification process in close communication with NVIDIA, which ensures these are some of the best Adaptive Sync monitors you can buy for usage with NVIDIA's cards.

All monitors feature ASUS' GameVisual presets that adjust screen settings according to the type of game you're playing. They also feature ASUS Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) for flickering reduction. On the ergonomics side of the equation, all three monitors support tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustments, and I/O is handled by 1x DisplayPort 1.2, 1x HDMI (v1.4), 1x Dual Link DVI-D, 1x Earphone Jack Audio in.

ASUS Outs ROG Swift PG278QE: 27-inch WQHD with 165Hz

ASUS today rolled out the ROG Swift PG278QE, a 27-inch planar gaming monitor with stellar gaming-grade specifications. To begin with, you get WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, with 165 Hz refresh-rate, 1 ms (GTG) response time, and support for NVIDIA G-Sync. ASUS Intros ROG Swift PG27UQ Monitor with G-SYNC HDR

ASUS today introduced the Republic of Gamers (ROG) Swift PG27UQ, a 27-inch monitor with 4K Ultra HD resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels), a staggering 144 Hz refresh-rate, and support for NVIDIA G-Sync HDR. Under the hood is an IPS Quantum-Dot panel with DCI-P3 Color Gamut support, 4 ms response time, 178°/178° viewing angles, and 10-bpc (1.07 billion colors) support. 300-1000 cd/m² maximum brightness, and 20,000:1 static contrast ratio, make for the rest of the panel specifications.

The monitor features (and requires) DisplayPort 1.4 to sustain 4K @ 144 Hz with 10-bpc color. It also features HDMI 2.0. Also featured are GamePlus (OSD goodies), GameVisual (genre-specific display presets), a and 2-port USB 3.0 hub. The stand and the back-side of the display features RGB LED elements that can be controlled by Aura Sync RGB. The company didn't reveal pricing.

BenQ Intros Zowie RL2755T 27-inch "Console eSports Monitor"

So "console-optimized monitors" are a thing. Apparently eSports players on consoles can't lug their big TVs around to BYOD events (local LAN parties), and so BenQ has come up with the Zowie RL2755T, which has been certified by Sony as an officially-licensed product for the PlayStation 4. The 27-inch monitor features a TN-film panel, with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, 1 ms (GTG) response time, and up to 75 Hz refresh rate.

BenQ makes up for these specs otherwise brushed aside by PC gamers, with a narrow bezel design, low response-time, Black eQualizer (a feature that enhances dark areas of the screen to help you spot enemies), flicker-free brightness adjustments, and dynamic color vibrance that helps you spot distant enemies. The stand offers height and tilt adjustments. Display inputs include two HDMI inputs, and DVI. The company didn't reveal pricing.

MSI Announces Optix MPG27C Monitor with PrismSync

ASUS today introduced the ProArt PA27AC monitor that meets displayHDR 400 standards. This 27-inch monitor features an IPS display panel with WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) native resolution, and covers 100% of the sRGB color-space with its 8bpc color depth. The monitor meets VESA's displayHDR 400 standard, with a peak luminescence of 400 nits, 8bpc image quality, and standard dynamic mega contrast dimming. The PA27AC also offers support for AMD FreeSync technology. Other vital specs include 60 Hz refresh-rate, and 5 ms (GTG) response time. The monitor takes input from DisplayPort 1.2a (needed for FreeSync), HDMI 2.0, and HDMI 1.4. The DisplayPort interface is USB type-C, and supports Thunderbolt 3 daisy-chaining (one port in, one out). The company didn't reveal pricing.
