These come in a 1000 W variant with 80 Plus Gold efficiency, and a 1200 W variant with 80 Plus Platinum, both feature a 16-pin 12VHPWR connector. These use 120 mm fans. The CSX Series PSUs target the traditional SFX form-factor, and come in two high-wattage models—1000 W with 80 Plus Platinum efficiency, and 850 W with 80 Plus Gold. Both models offer a 600 W-rated 16-pin 12VHPWR connector.

Cougar today rolled out the VTE X2 ARGB line of mid-range power supplies targeted at e-Sports gaming PC builds, particularly those who value a lot of RGB bling in their PCs. This PSU is characterized by a 120 mm addressable RGB LED-illuminated fan, and an ARGB-illuminated Cougar logo along one of the sides (the other having the power distribution and regulatory stickers). The PSU features an internal ARGB controller, and a button near the AC receptacle lets you cycle between presets. You can also sync the PSU to your build's lighting through a 3-pin ARGB connector.

The Cougar VTE X2 ARGB comes in 550 W, 650 W, and 750 W capacities, and offers fixed cabling. Under the hood, you get a single +12 V rail design with 80 Plus Bronze efficiency, up to 99% power factor, Japanese standby capacitors, DC-to-DC switching, and most common electrical protections. All three models come with one 4+4 pin EPS connector. The 550 W and 650 W models include two 6+2 pin PCIe power connectors, while the 750 W model comes with four. AeroCool Intros LUX RGB 850M Power Supply

AeroCool today introduced the LUX RGB 850M power supply. This PSU delivers a high capacity of 850 W, and looks premium thanks to its addressable-RGB LED lighting elements, but packs some mid-tier specs. The PSU offers 80 Plus Bronze efficiency under 230 V EU conditions. It also features active PFC and offers most common electrical protections, against over/under-voltage, overload, overheat, and short-circuit; and uses a 120 mm fan to keep cool.

The AeroCool LUX RGB 850M features a addressable-RGB diffusers along the sides. You can toggle between 13 lighting presets by pressing a button near the AC receptacle; or connect the PSU to a 3-pin ARGB header for control using software or an ARGB controller. The LUX RGB 850M offers partially modular cabling. Fixed connectors include 24-pin ATX, one 4+4 pin EPS, and a pair of 6+2 pin PCIe power connectors. Modular connectors include an additional pair of 6+2 pin PCIe power, a cable with four SATA power connectors, and another with two each of SATA power and 4-pin Molex. Both the fixed- and modular-cables are black, flat, ribbon-type. The company didn't reveal pricing.

SilverStone Launches Budget-Minded, 80-Plus Bronze ET500-ARGB PSU

SilverStone has added a new budget option to its lineup, whilst keeping it hip by integrating an ARGB fan (120 mm rated at 18 dBA, with dynamic speeds according to PSU load). There are 17 separate lighting effects available to be cycled at the touch of a button on the PSU's back panel. The new ET500-ARGB PSU features a 500 W output capacity with 80-Plus Bronze efficiency levels. The PSU features a + 12 V single rail design, with a maximum output of 38 A. As it is a budget PSU, there's no place for modular cabling here; the cables that do exist, however, all feature a flat design for easier cable management. The ET500-ARGB offers 1x ATX 24-pin, 1x CPU 8-pin, 1x CPU 4 + 4 pin, 2x PCI-Express 6 + 2 pins, 3x 4-pin, and 4x SATA outputs, which should be enough for budget-minded users.

The ET500-ARGB PSU features the most common protections (Over Current Protection, Over Voltage Protection, Overload Protection, Short Circuit Protection, and Overheat protection, and an Active PFC circuit (full load PF> 0.9) all in an enclosure measuring 150 mm width, 140 mm depth, 86 mm height, and weighing 1.37 Kg. No pricing information was available at time of writing.

Huntkey Unleashes Two New Models of PC Power Supply Units

Huntkey, a leading provider of power solutions, unleashes two new models of PC power supply units - the GS700 PRIME and GS800 PRIME. They belong to the same series, but they are designed with different power outputs. The GS700 PRIME's rated power is 600 W and peak power is 700 W; the GS800 PRIME is rated 700 W, with peak power at 800 W. You get up to five SATA power connectors, and a trio of 4-pin Molex. The company didn't reveal pricing, although all four models are expected to be priced well under $80.

All three models offer flat black cables. A 120 mm noise-optimized fan with 18 dBA minimum noise output, cools the PSU. All three models come with two 4+4 pin EPS connectors. The 750 W model includes four 6+2 pin PCIe power connectors, while the 550 W and 650 W models have two. The VIVA series PSUs are build in a 14 cm long chassis. The company didn't reveal pricing or warranty information.

Enermax Intros MarbleBron Line of Semi-Modular PSUs

Enermax today rolled out the MarbleBron line of mid-range PSUs. Available in 550 W, 650 W, and 750 W models, these PSUs offer partial modular cabling with 80 Plus Bronze efficiency. Under the hood, these units offer DC-to-DC switching, APFC, and protection against over/under-voltage, overload, overheat, and short-circuit. A single +12 V rail design is employed on all three models, with a 45 A main rail on the 550 W model, a 54 A rail on the 650 W model, and a 62 A rail on the 750 W model.

Another key feature with the MarbleBron is the use of a 120 mm high static-pressure fan with "Smart Air Control," with the PSU's noise output rated at 14 dBA with the load under 40%. The 550 W and 650 W models offer just one 4+4 pin EPS connector, while the 750 W model offers two. The 650 W and 750 W models offer four 6+2 pin PCIe power connectors, while the 550 W offers two. The company didn't reveal warranty or pricing information.

Enermax Launches CYBERBRON Entry-Level PSU Lineup: 500 W, 600 W, 700 W, 80 Plus Bronze

Enermax has announced a new entry-level PSU lineup, which they have somewhat clumsily named CYBERBRON (it's not Cybertron nor Cyberborn, but Cyberbron). These are pretty standard affairs, featuring a non-modular cable design (though the cables are flattened for easier routing), 80 plus Bronze certification, and Japanese electrolytic capacitors. A single+rail +12 V design lies under the hood as well, as does a 120 mm fan.

Operating protections are pretty standard as well: OVP (Over Voltage Protection), UVP (Under Voltage Protection), OPP (Over Power Protection), SCP (Short Circuit Protection) and OTP (Over Temperature Protection). Dimensions stand at 150 (W) x 86 (H) x 140 (D) mm. The 700 W version delivers 54 A on the +12 V rail, 17 A under +5V, and 19 A under +3.3 V. ASUS Intros TUF Gaming Bronze Series PSUs

ASUS over the weekend introduced its TUF Gaming Bronze line of power supplies. The series aligns with ASUS's overall brand strategy for TUF Gaming - appealing for value-conscious serious gamers. The TUF Gaming Bronze series debuts with two mid-range Wattage options - 550 W and 650 W. ASUS has a few selling points up its sleeve in this heavily saturated market: firstly, the PSUs feature a double ball-bearing 135 mm Axial Tech fan (an ASUS innovation), which features impellers that are webbed toward the ends to guide all their airflow axially. The fans are controlled by a 0 dB idle fan-stop logic (the fan stays completely off below a 30% load/temperature threshold). The main PCB features surface treatment that protects it from wear over the years (against moisture and dust debris). The third innovation is a segment-first 6-year product warranty.

Under the hood, the ASUS TUF Gaming Bronze PSUs feature single +12 V rail designs, 80 Plus Bronze efficiency as the name suggests, and protection against over/under-voltage, overload, overheat, and short-circuit. Both models feature fixed, sleeved cabling. Both models offer a single 4+4 pin EPS, 24-pin ATX, five SATA power, and four Molex connectors. Montech Releases New Beta Series 80 Plus Bronze PSUs

Montech have recently revealed their new Beta Series 80 Plus Bronze power supplies, the new PSUs are available in 550 W and 650 W capacities. The series features a non-modular design and includes motherboard power, CPU power, dual 6+2 pin PCIe cables, 6 SATA power connectors, and dual MOLEX connectors. The Beta Series uses 105°C/221°F rated Japanese main capacitors and feature a high amperage +12v Single Rail. The power supplies are all rated at 80 Plus Bronze efficiency and support continuous output at +40°C in addition to being fully compliant with Intel's ATX 12 Volt 2.31 and EPS 12 V 2.92 standards.

Beta Series PSUs come with a 3-year warranty and are already available at Amazon and Newegg in the US, and worldwide at all Montech retailers. Pricing for the 550 W will be 49.99 USD and 56.99 USD for the 650 W model in North America.

Available in mid-range capacities of 450 W (model: PS-SPD-0450MNFABx-1), 550 W (PS-SPD-0550MNFABx-1), 650 W (PS-SPD-0650MNFABx), and 750 W (PS-SPD-0750MNFABx), these PSUs feature single +12 V rail designs with 80 Plus Bronze efficiency, DC-to-DC switching, APFC, Japanese main capacitors, and most common electrical protections, against over/under-voltage, overload, overheat, and short-circuit.

As semi-modular PSUs, the Smart BM2 comes with fixed 24-pin ATX, fixed 8-pin EPS, and an additional 4+4 pin EPS fixed connector, on all four models. The 450 W and 550 W models offer two 6+2 pin PCIe power connectors, while the 650 W and 750 W models offer four. The 450 W, 550 W, and 650 W models offer six SATA power connectors, while the 750 W model tops it up with nine. All models offer four Molex and a Berg. Black, flat cables are offered on all models, including for the fixed connectors. A 140 mm fan is used to cool the PSU, on all four models.
