Thermaltake Launches New eSports Chaser MKI Chassis

Alpenföhn Ready with Heidi 2 Universal GPU Cooler

Try not to mistake this for a low-profile CPU cooler, Alpenföhn's latest offering is the Heidi 2 universal graphics card cooler. First pictured at this year's CeBIT event, the Heidi 2 looks more polished and ready to market. Its main heatsink consists of an aluminum fin array to which heat is conveyed by four 6 mm thick nickel-plated copper heat pipes. The 50-odd aluminum fins make for distinct shapes at the edge of the fin array, which improve heat dissipation. The heat pipes converge at a nickel-plated copper base.

The main heatsink measures 144 x 133 x 62 mm, weighing 450 g. Ventilation is care of a 120 mm Alpenföhn WingBoost fan. MSI Introduces New Generation of Big Screen Laptops

Enermax Releases T.B.Silence Series Fans

Enermax today released its TB.Silence line of fans. The fans were first unveiled at this year's CeBIT event, earlier this month. T.B.Silence fans use a special wavy blade profile Enermax calls "Batwing", that improves air-flow to rotational speed ratio. The fan motor supports 4-pin PWM-based speed control, but is fully compatible with older 3-pin voltage-based control. In some "manual control" models, to the power cable, rotary speed control knobs are attached, which can be kept outside the case. The fans feature twister-type bearings that set the MTBF high up to 100,000 hours. The T.B.Silence series comes in four models, and in two sizes: 80 mm and 120 mm:

OCZ Unveils IBIS XL 4 TB HSDL Solid State Drive

After dedicating a big chunk of its resources to the SSD market, OCZ's R&D became a fertile ground for new SSD solutions. The company put up its latest high performance, high capacity SSD for enterprises at CeBIT, the IBIS XL. This monstrosity supports OCZ's very own HSDL interface, and comes in the 5.25-inch form-factor (about the size of a PC optical drive). It offers a humongous 4 terabyte of storage, higher than even the highest PC hard drive in the market, which offers 3 TB. IBIS XL offers transfer rates of 1800 MB/s read, 1700 MB/s write, and up to 200,000 IOPS 4K random write performance.

ASUS Reveals the World’s First Motion-Sensing Experience for PC

An exciting new approach to PC entertainment on show at CeBIT 2011. WAVI Xtion (pronounced "way-vee action") comprises two components- the WAVI wireless media streaming device, and the Xtion motion sensor. It streams high definition media wirelessly from a PC located in one room toa TV in another, while infrared gesture-based multimedia playback, games and applications introduce the first ever officially-supported motion-sensing PC interface.

Thermaltake Unveils Chaser MK-1 Gaming Chassis at CeBIT

At the second day of the world's largest IT and computer trade show CeBIT 2011 in Hannover, Germany, Thermaltake debuts their latest mid-tower gaming chassis, the Chaser MK-1. At this world's first debut the Chaser MK-1 shows off a design language that is clearly inspired by modern games. Strong lines and all black coating inside and outside in combination with blue elements lend it its very dynamic and powerful looks. The pulsing logo on top only add even further to the overall mighty appearance. Being the very first XB (extra big) ATX mid tower chassis, the Chaser MK-1 is extra wide, thereby allowing for enough space to install particularly big and powerful CPU coolers of up to 18 cm height. An entirely tool-less design for the hard drive trays makes installation and removal of 3.5" HDDs and 2.5" SSDs a child's play.

Sparkle Readies Single-Slot GeForce GTX 570 Graphics Card

Sparkle computer's CeBIT bit booth featured an eye-catching new graphics card, the Sparkle One GTX 570. This is the first air-cooled single-slot GeForce GTX 570 series graphics card. While it is thin, the card is extremely long. We estimate around 13-inches long, if not more. Sparkle seems to be making use of the extra length to squeeze in as much metal (heatsink) as possible. A fan pushes air backwards. The card features clock speeds of 752/1504/4000 MHz (core/shader/memory).

Like every other GTX 570, it's based on the 40 nm GF110 GPU with 480 CUDA cores enabled, and 1280 MB of GDDR5 memory across a 320-bit wide memory interface. Display outputs include one each of DVI, HDMI, and DisplayPort. Sparkle expects the card to be released by next month.

Patriot Displays Fast and Huge SuperSonic Magnum USB 3.0 Flash Drive

At the ongoing CeBIT event, Patriot Memory showed off its very latest, which includes the WildFire series of SATA 6 Gb/s SSDs, and its latest USB flash drive, the SuperSonic Magnum. G.Skill showed off its fastest SATA solid state drive (SSD) at CeBIT, the Phoenix II series. Based on the SandForce SF-2000 series controller, Phoenix II pushes the limits of SF-2000 series in terms of throughput, and advertises some of the highest transfer rates for the chipset: 550 MB/s read, and 500 MB/s write. The company even validated these speeds using a session of ATTO disk benchmark. The 120 GB Phoenix II SSD was connected to an AMD SB850 SATA 6 Gb/s controller, on a system headed by Phenom II X6 processor. G.Skill said that the 120 GB model would be priced at €299.

Enermax Readying 80 Plus Platinum Compliant 900W Modular PSU

Enermax is ready with a high-wattage power supply unit (PSU) model that boasts of 80 Plus Platinum efficiency rating, which the company will launch at the CeBIT event. Known as EXX900, the 900W modular PSU will be able to deliver at least 91.07% efficiency at 20% load; 92.51% at 50% load; and 90.12% at 100% load, qualifying for the coveted Platinum rating, making it ideal for high-end PCs with 2~3 graphics cards. Corsair to Preview Force Series GT SSDs at CeBIT

PowerColor Readies Radeon HD 6870 Eyefinity6 Graphics Card

PowerColor is reportedly working on a new Radeon HD 6870 graphics card that uses Eyefinity6 display output configuration. Eyefinity6 allows users to connect up to six full-HD monitors over each of the GPU's six TMDS links, which can then be virtually merged to create a large display head spanning the six physical displays. You can also create multiple Eyefinity display heads among the six physical displays, or use HydraVision to create multiple virtual display heads to occupy each physical display. The graphics card uses six mini DisplayPort 1.2 connectors to connect to its display, a variety of connector dongles should be bundled as well.

Eyefinity aside, PowerColor's card sports 2 GB of GDDR5 memory over a 256-bit wide memory interface. Clock speeds are not known. The card uses the same GPU cooler found on the HD 6870 PCS models, and a red-colored PCB. The DirectX 11 compliant GPU features 1120 stream processors, and can pair with any other Radeon HD 6800 series graphics card in CrossFire configuration. PowerColor is likely to unveil this card at the upcoming CeBIT event.

Colorful Announces iGame GeForce GT 440 Series Graphics Cards

Colorful, one of the biggest NVIDIA graphics card suppliers in Asian market, announces two GeForce GT 440 models - iGame440 1G Ymir-U and iGame440 1G Buri-Slim. Both of these two cards are based on the same PCB solution, but with different coolers and clocks.

iGame440 1G Ymir-U has better performance, it uses the "shark" design on the cooler, which with pure cooper base and nickel plated heat-pipe, providing better thermal and 3D performance. The clock is setting at 850/3800MHz (core/memory), comparing to the reference edition 810/3600MHz, iGame440 has about 5% improvement.

MSI to Show 5 NB Series, 20-plus Models at CeBIT 2011

FSP Group Unveils Aurum Series 80Plus Gold Certified PSUs

FSP Group, a channel brand distributor of reputed PC and server power supply manufacturer Fortron, unveiled its latest line of high-efficiency PSUs for PC enthusiasts. Named FSP Aurum (Latin for Gold), the PSUs are 80Plus Gold certified, with over 90 percent efficiency at all times. The first wave of Aurum series will consist of 400W, 500W, 600W, and 700W models. The PSUs use granite-touch casing which is starting to get common with high-end PSUs from manufacturers such as Enermax, Cougar, Cooler Master, etc.

The 400W and 500W models feature a double "Hybrid Synergy" 12V rail design, while the 600W and 700W ones feature a quad-rail design. A "Multiple Intelligence Ability" (MIA) chip keeps control over various performance and protection functions. The PSUs use high-grade Japanese capacitors to contribute to the efficiency. The PSUs are ATX12V v2.3 & EPS12V v2.92 compliant. A 120 mm fluid dynamic bearing fan keeps the units cool. The PSUs will be backed by a 5-year warranty. The FSP Aurum series will be officially released at the upcoming CeBIT event in early March.

OCZ Portable USB 3.0 Storage Device Gets Named

OCZ Technology has been working on a storage solution that takes advantage of the USB 3.0 SuperSpeed interface for a while. It's just got a little closer to seeing the light of the day at CeBIT. The OCZ Enyo is a device that's roughly the size of a compact portable HDD that you can carry in your pocket, except that it's a flash-based device, and uses USB 3.0. The Enyo offers data storage in three capacities (variants): 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB. It measures 56 x 120 x 10 mm, and relies on the USB 3.0 interface for power and connectivity. Being a flash-based solid state storage device, it is expected to have high transfer speeds, and inherently, the incentive of low access times and higher durability since it lacks moving parts. Back in January, on the occasion of CES, in a preview by LegitReviews, working prototypes the device was found to offer read-write speeds of 188.2 MB/s (read) and 130 MB/s (write). CAD drawings of the Enyo with its logo emerged.
