Eye-Fi's Mobi Magic Now Available on the Desktop

Eye-Fi, the global leader in wireless memory cards, is announcing a beta Windows desktop receiver for the Mobi card. The Eye-Fi Mobi card will now instantly transfer directly to the desktop, extending the simple camera-to-mobile photo and video transfer users love. With pricing yet to be announced, Eye-Fi's new desktop receiver for Windows will be free to all customers during beta and gives Mobi users more choice in where their high-quality photos can be transferred, stored and shared. "Our customers love the ability to snap great pictures on a camera and instantly share from a phone or tablet, and now we're taking that experience one step further," said Matt DiMaria, CEO of Eye-Fi. "Now we're adding a simple, instant way to transfer to the desktop and make it easy for customers to get their photos on their computers to edit and archive."

Moving to a 16GB, Class 10 card keeps up with these trends and delivers what our customers have been asking for," said Yuval Koren, CEO and co-founder of Eye-Fi. "Customers already know and love our Eye-Fi cards for instant wireless uploads, so the added space and faster speeds are a great addition, especially with the highest-volume photo days coming up."

I spy the Eye-Fi

As it is commonly known SD cards are getting larger and larger in storage capacity and yet smaller in size. The Eye-Fi takes Secure Digital or SD memory a step further by building in Wi-Fi capabilities. The moment you walk in your home this little SD card can automatically transmit your photos from within your camera to your computer(via your wireless network). If you desire it can also simultaneously upload them to your favorite social networks. Now one would suspect that this leaves little room for pictures, but their is also 2GB of on-board memory. For those of you who ever said "Where is my USB cable?" This might just be for you. It has a MSRP of $100 USD, and might make a good holiday for any photo lovers. One can only imagine what other interesting uses this product will have with some modification.
