Fortron's channel brand FSP is ready with a unique new redundant power supply for standard ATX desktops. The new Twins Series PSU is an ATX-size box that encloses two hot-swappable 500W server-grade PSUs, with internal circuitry that maintains redundancy. The PSU further interfaces with your OS, giving you control over redundancy, monitoring, and programmable alerts. The PSU is ideal for home-servers and workstations with <500W power draw. Each of the two included subunits features 40 mm server-grade fans. FSP plans to reveal more information at its 2016 Computex exhibit.

FSP Announces 80PLUS Gold Certified Hydro X Power Supply Series

FSP, the performance power specialist, announces the release of its Hydro X Series 80PLUS Gold certified power supplies. These ATX PSUs use premium components and Japanese-made electrolytic capacitors made to exacting standards in order to provide users excellent cooling performance at high efficiency with minimum noise.

Both +3.3V and +5V modules use a custom DC-DC design with solid capacitors for efficiency, voltage stability, and high system compatibility. This design is also optimized for the latest power-saving 6th Generation Intel Skylake processors. A bespoke variable resistor (VR) design better controls the balance point of the +12V rail for tight regulation. Hydro X series PSUs ensure the output voltage is regulated within 1% under any load change. A thermometer monitors the internal temperature and automatically adjusts the speed of the 120mm double ball bearing fan to provide optimal cooling.

FSP Announces 80 PLUS Titanium Power Supplies

Having committed themselves to 'green image' in switch mode power supplies (SMPS) for two decades, FSP Group's corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities reflect in their dedicated policies toward safety, quality and environment. By innovation in improving the performance of SMPS, they put the Group's CSR into action in energy saving and carbon footprint reducing product design. Among 80 PLUS certified power supply list, FSP Group's brands headed the list with more than 390 models. Now they proudly announce to be the first power supply manufactory to launch the latest 400W SMPS with the most efficient specification--80 PLUS Titanium PSU.

Keeping the CSR in mind, FSP's R&D teams work tirelessly in increasing product efficiency. Development of what was to become the MIA ICTM(Multiple-Intelligence Ability) began in 2008, when FSP Group started to research active clamp forward topology. MIA ICTM, FSP Group's own design patent, later became the core technology in Aurum series, which were recognized as high cost-performance ratio products by their customers.

E-Sync Remote-Sensing is an FSP exclusive technology that provides superior noise and ripple suppression.

Cooler Master Intros Two New Silent Pro Gold PSUs For The European Market

Available until recently only in the APAC markets (Asia-Pacific region), the 450 W and 550 W version of the Silent Pro Gold series can now be purchased in most EU markets as well. The European consumers tend to prefer lower output PSUs when compared to most other mature markets, especially the NA ones, so units like these two usually sell in better volumes here than elsewhere, fact which explains Cooler Master's decision to expand its European PSU offerings with two low(er) output models.

The two units discussed here don't bring anything particularly new to the table, in fact they harbor internal electronics that are well known and widely available, being sold by numerous other vendors already. The units are underpinned by FSP's well known Aurum platform, a group regulated design that is rather average in all regards except efficiency, being an 80 Plus Gold certified product. Cooler Master discarded FSP's multi-rail setup and opted for single rail designs with the Silent Pro Gold 450 W and 550 W, the two units also make exclusive use of Japanese capacitors. MSRP for these new Silent Pro Gold PSUs is set at €60 for the 450 W version and €70 for its 550 W sibling.

EVGA SuperNova 1000 G2 Hits Retail

Announced a little over a month ago, the SuperNova 1000 G2 is the latest addition to EVGA's SuperNova power supply series and is now available for purchase. Major European and North American retailers have listed the unit during the last few days, with prices falling inline with segment norm, around €/$ 180. The SuperNova 1000 G2 is the second high output unit of the series, after the SuperNova NEX1500 Classified, which received mixed reviews and failed to generate the desired traction for EVGA's recent PSU venture, partially because of its price (being the most expensive consumer PSU on the market at launch) and partially because of its lackluster performance for a halo product.

The SuperNova 1000 G2 is based on a leading platform from renowned OEM/ODM, Super Flower, a first for EVGA which previously collaborated with Etasis Electronics (for the SuperNova NEX 1500 Classified) and FSP (for the rest of its SuperNova lineup). While Super Flower's aformentioned platform, dubbed Leadex, is itself new, we did get to see it put through its paces by OklahomaWolf at, where it performed exceptionally well, legitimizing expectations of similar feats from EVGA's own version of it. The SuperNova 1000 G2 also boasts superb connectivity, offering functionality superior to most competing products, and not least, a 10 year warranty period, something no other power supply offers, except for EVGA's own SuperNova NEX1500 Classified.

EVGA Works On Z87 Stinger-based Pre-Built Gaming Desktops

EVGA is planning a lineup of pre-built mini-ITX gaming desktops, which take advantage of its Z87 Stinger socket LGA1150 motherboard, various choices of 4th generation Core "Haswell" processors, and of course, EVGA-branded graphics cards. These desktops are built into a case custom designed by EVGA called miniBOX, featuring a windowed side-panel, a glossy black front, and a 1U SFF power-supply bearing FSP-Fortron markings. One of the two desktops was fully assembled, running a Z87 Stinger motherboard with Core i7-4770K CPU, a GeForce GTX TITAN, and an SSD. Interestingly, these systems completely lack optical drives, so EVGA will target only those markets in which digital downloads of games (over Steam, Origin, UPlay, etc.,) are prevalent. UPDATE: Actually this units bundle with an 550W FSP PSU and a slimline optical drive which ejects to the side of the case. Currently a DVD-RW is planned, but EVGA is looking to do a BluRay version as well.
