GTA V Coming to PC This Fall

Rockstar Games bit the PC bullet, by announcing Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) for the PC platform, which debuted on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms, last September. Rockstar made this announcement on the sidelines of E3 2014. Alongside the game's Xbox One and PlayStation 4 variants, GTA V for PC, is expected to release in Fall 2014. The studio threw the game up for pre-order. It also showed off a gameplay trailer, which was captured on the PlayStation 4, which reveals more accurate shadows, higher-resolution textures, and lighting effects not seen on the Xbox 360 / PS3 variant.
The trailer video follows.

Rockstar Games "Considers" GTA V Wii U and PC Versions

Rockstar Games' biggest title for 2013, Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) is slated to arrive in Spring 2013, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms, with no PC version, much to the dismay of PC gamers and enthusiasts. In an interview with IGN, Rockstar Vice President Dan Houser suggested that versions of the game for the Nintendo Wii U and PC are "up for consideration," a cleverly constructed phrase that settles quite a bit of uncertainty. It shows that Rockstar hasn't even begun work on a PC version of GTA V.

"We are a third-party publisher. We're not Nintendo, we're not Sony, we're not Microsoft. We love all of them in different ways. But we can do what we want wherever there's the appropriate business opportunity and chance to find a market," said Houser. "Some other people talk about the limitations of the [current] hardware. We don't feel there are that many limitations. We feel we can do some very impressive stuff and do it for a large audience. This felt like the way," he added.

No PC Version of GTA V At Launch: Rockstar

Our suspicions from a pre-order poster leak earlier this week are confirmed, there won't be a PC version of GTA V any time soon. The Spring 2013 launch date given by Rockstar only includes versions for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 platforms. Pre-orders for the game will begin next week, starting Monday. When Rockstar posted its pre-order announcement, everyone in the comments section had one question on their minds - will there be a PC version? This prompted Rockstar to respond in a comment, and not update the actual news article (adding insult to injury), that there won't be a PC version any time soon.
Hey guys, glad to see so much enthusiasm about the release announcement. For those asking about the PC platform, we're currently focused on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game and don't have any details to share about a PC version at this time. Anyone that continues to spam the comments section will have their commenting privileges suspended.

GTA V Pre-Order Poster Leaked

The next title in the smash hit game franchise Grand Theft Auto, GTA V is coming in Spring 2013 after all, according to a leaked European pre-order poster for stores. The poster shows some concept art of the game, and a pre-order notice. The fact that the poster is leaked, in Europe no less, shows that pre-orders should open shortly. An unsettling development is that the posters only feature Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 logos, with no "PC DVD-ROM" logos. This indicates that the game's console versions could launch ahead of the PC version, perhaps even months ahead - just like its predecessor.

GTA V to Miss March 2013 Launch Window?

According to a gaming industry analyst, Rockstar's upcoming AAA title Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V), could miss the March-2013 launch window. Colin Sebastian, an analyst with research firm Robert W. Baird, in a note sent to investors, expressed these concerns. "By no means am I convinced that it will miss March, but there are a couple of factors to consider. One, we haven’t heard anything definitive from the company on release timing," he said. "Second, retailers typically would want 4-6 months lead time to prepare for a launch as large as GTA, and from [what] I understand they haven’t heard anything. Third, Rockstar rightly prioritizes game quality over release date, and this dynamic could shift timing."

GTA V Headed for October 2012 Launch: Possible Leak

The CV has since been pulled, with no comment from O'Dwyer or Rockstar.

Xbox 360 Most Popular Games Of 2011

Microsoft has revealed the top 20 most popular games played on the Xbox 360 in 2011 based on numbers of unique users logged into Xbox LIVE (Silver and Gold members). Note that this gives a different result to the total playtime for a particular game, which has not been disclosed here. Unsurprisingly, the Call of Duty series dominates the chart, but what is sure to irk CoD detractors, but make fans very happy, is that a massive five of those positions are taken up by CoD – that's 25% of the rankings. Even CoD4: Modern Warfare which was released way back in 2007 sits at a very respectable number 14. However, top games Battlefield 3 and Skyrim did very well nonetheless, sitting at five and six respectively, with only Halo beating them at number 4. Can you guess which CoD game hit the top spot before looking at the chart?

Rockstar Reaches Hot Coffee Settlement

Rockstar Games has now managed to reach a settlement over the infamous “Hot Coffee” dispute which allowed gamers to unlock explicit content in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Customers who still have the original disk and a detailed store receipt can claim up to $35 in compensation, and those with just the disk but no receipt will still be able to claim $5.
Defendants do not dispute that the parts that were modified and combined to display the Hot Coffee content were present in the code of the game discs. However, Defendants vigorously deny each and every allegation of improper conduct, and they deny all liability. The notice and other settlement documents provide information about the lawsuit, the settlement, your legal rights, what benefits are available, who is eligible for them, and how to get them. GTA Delays Could Put Take-Two in Financial Trouble

It looks like the delays involved in developing GTA IV could be causing some financial trouble for publisher Take-Two interactive. Grand Theft Auto IV, which is the latest instalment in the company’s most successful series of games, was originally scheduled to be released in October this year, however it has since been pushed back to next year to give Rockstar Games (the division of Take-Two responsible for developing GTA) enough time to finish it. At the start of the year, Take-Two had around $138.15 million in cash, which had fallen to $61.62 million by the end of July. However, last month the company increased its five-year revolving credit facility up from $100 million to $140 million, and given the rate it’s been losing money it could soon find itself drawing upon that facility. As a result, GTA IV is being hinted at as a make-or-break game for Take-Two, so the company will be hoping for no more delays.Source: TheStreet.com
