Enermax today rolled out the MarbleBron line of mid-range PSUs. Available in 550 W, 650 W, and 750 W models, these PSUs offer partial modular cabling with 80 Plus Bronze efficiency. Under the hood, these units offer DC-to-DC switching, APFC, and protection against over/under-voltage, overload, overheat, and short-circuit. A single +12 V rail design is employed on all three models, with a 45 A main rail on the 550 W model, a 54 A rail on the 650 W model, and a 62 A rail on the 750 W model.

Another key feature with the MarbleBron is the use of a 120 mm high static-pressure fan with "Smart Air Control," with the PSU's noise output rated at 14 dBA with the load under 40%. The 550 W and 650 W models offer just one 4+4 pin EPS connector, while the 750 W model offers two. The 650 W and 750 W models offer four 6+2 pin PCIe power connectors, while the 550 W offers two. The company didn't reveal warranty or pricing information.

FSP, a globally leading power supply manufacturer, has announced the FSP Hydro PTM PRO Series. The Hydro PTM PRO Series is available in wattages from 650 W to 1200 W, serving mid-range to enthusiast and workstation PC systems - including the latest NVIDIA RTX 3000 Series graphics cards - allowing them to unleash the full potential of their hardware, while remaining silent in operation.

Enermax has announced a new entry-level PSU lineup, which they have somewhat clumsily named CYBERBRON (it's not Cybertron nor Cyberborn, but Cyberbron). These are pretty standard affairs, featuring a non-modular cable design (though the cables are flattened for easier routing), 80 plus Bronze certification, and Japanese electrolytic capacitors. A single+rail +12 V design lies under the hood as well, as does a 120 mm fan.

Operating protections are pretty standard as well: OVP (Over Voltage Protection), UVP (Under Voltage Protection), OPP (Over Power Protection), SCP (Short Circuit Protection) and OTP (Over Temperature Protection). Dimensions stand at 150 (W) x 86 (H) x 140 (D) mm. The 700 W version delivers 54 A on the +12 V rail, 17 A under +5V, and 19 A under +3.3 V. Seasonic today shared with us some additional details regarding its 12-pin Molex MicroFit 3.0 modular PSU cable, and how it plans to market it. If you've read our NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition Unboxing Preview, you'll know that NVIDIA ships its Founders Edition cards with a printed warning not to use any third-party adapters to convert 8-pin PCIe power connectors to the 12-pin connector. The warning also asks you to use the included adapter, and that using a third-party adapter would void the warranty. There's no clarity from NVIDIA on whether modular cables that plug directly into a modular PSU and put out 12-pin connectors strictly fit this description, as they're not "adapters."

Seasonic believes that its cable is a perfect match for NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards. The cable uses 16 AWG wires. Each 12 V pin of the connector is rated for 9 A current, which means the cable is capable of ferrying up to 540 W of power. On one end of the cable are two 8-pin 12 V connectors (which plug into the 12 V modular back-plane of your PSU), and on the other is one 12-pin connector. The cable is 75 cm in length. The cable is compatible with the company's Prime, Focus, and Core series modular/semi-modular PSUs.

GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Co. FSP today rolled out the "Ampere Cable," an accessory that converts two 8-pin PCIe inputs from modular PSUs to the 12-pin Molex MicroFit connector standard introduced to the client segment by NVIDIA and its GeForce RTX 3000 "Ampere" Founders Edition graphics cards. The cables are compatible with any modular PSU that has 8-pin 12 V connectors that put out 8-pin PCIe. It should work with all FSP branded modular PSUs, as well as modular PSUs of other brands that use Fortron as their OEM source. FSP is Fortron's DIY channel brand. FSP is setting up web-forms for existing owners of FSP power supplies to claim a free unit.Update Sep 10th: FSP has informed us that they have decided to not sell this cable

SilverStone today introduced the DA1650, a 1650 W high-end PSU. With a length of 180 mm, the DA1650 has some of the highest power densities on the market, more so given that it's a fully modular PSU (modular cabling adds to the length of a PSU). The extreme Wattage enables the PSU to run completely fanless up to 30% of its capacity or 495 W. Under the hood, the DA1650 features a single +12 V rail design, with a gargantuan 137.5 A rail. It features DC-to-DC switching, active PFC, and most common electrical protections, against over/under-voltage, overload (if you try to crank a truck with this thing), overheat, and short-circuit.

The SilverStone DA1650 offers 80 Plus Gold efficiency, along with ETA A and Lambda S+ certifications. The PSU is designed for 24/7 continuous operation in an environment with up to 50 °C ambient temperature. It uses a 135 mm fluid-dynamic bearing fan to keep cool. Corsair is preparing to launch its CX-F line of entry-level PSUs with RGB LED lighting, targeted at gaming PC builds on a budget. A successor of the company's CX line of value PSUs, the CX-F series began surfacing on retailers such as PC-Canada. It comes in capacities of 550 W (model: CP-9020216-EU), 650 W (CP-9020217-EU), and 750 W (CP-9020218-EU), and color options of black and white (CP-9020225-EU, CP-9020226-EU, and CP-9020227-EU).

Under the hood, these PSUs offer single +12 V rail design, 80 Plus Bronze efficiency, active PFC, and LLC resonant converter. The RGB bling comes from a 120 mm fan that features a white impeller that doubles up as an RGB LED diffuser, and LEDs located in its impeller hub. The OEM appears to be HEC. The PSU talks to software over an ARGB header, so it could interface with the iCUE RGB software. PC-Canada asks $85 USD (converted) for the 550 W variant, $100 USD for 650 W, and $110 USD for 750 W.

Thermaltake today introduced the Versa T25 TG (model: CA-1R5-00M1WN-00). This ATX mid-tower case is characterized by a tempered glass front panel that conceals two large intake fan vents, and a tempered glass panel over the left side. Inside, the case features a typical horizontally partitioned layout, with the upper compartment serving up room for graphics cards up to 30 cm in length, and CPU coolers up to 150 cm in height. The PSU bay in the bottom compartment offers up to 16 cm room, which can be extended to 20 cm by removing the drive cage.

Storage options include two 3.5-inch/2.5-inch bays in a detachable drive cage in the bottom compartment, and two 2.5-inch drive mounts. Ventilation options include two 200 mm front intakes, which can be made to hold either two 200 mm fans, or two 140 mm fans, or three 120 mm fans; two 140/120 mm top exhausts; and a 120 mm rear exhaust. Leading PSU manufacturer Seasonic is shipping a modular cable that confirms NVIDIA's proprietary 12-pin graphics card power connector for its upcoming GeForce "Ampere" graphics cards. Back in July we did an in-depth analysis of the connector, backed by confirmation from various industry sources about the connector being real, being a proprietary design by NVIDIA (and not a PCI-SIG or ATX standard), and its possible power output limit being 600 W. Seasonic's adapter converts two versatile 12 V 8-pin PSU-side connectors into one 12-pin connector, which tends to back the power output information. On typical Seasonic modular PSUs, cables are included to convert one PSU-side 8-pin 12 V connector into two 6+2 pin PCIe power connectors along a single cable. HardwareLuxxx.de reports that it's already received the Seasonic adapter in preparation for its "Ampere" Founders Edition reviews.

NVIDIA leaker with an extremely high hit-rate, kopite7kimi, however predicts that the 12-pin connector was designed by NVIDIA exclusively for its Founders Edition (reference design) graphics cards, and that custom-design cards may stick to industry-standard PCIe power connectors. We recently spied a custom-design RTX 3090 PCB, and it's shown featuring three 8-pin PCIe power connectors. This seems to be additional proof that a single 12-pin connector is a really fat straw for 12 V juice. The label on the box for the Seasonic cable reads that it's recommended to use the cable with PSUs with at least 850 W output (which could very well be a system requirement for the RTX 3090). Earlier this weekend, pictures of the RTX 3090 Founders Edition surfaced, and it is huge.

ASUS over the weekend introduced its TUF Gaming Bronze line of power supplies. The series aligns with ASUS's overall brand strategy for TUF Gaming - appealing for value-conscious serious gamers. The TUF Gaming Bronze series debuts with two mid-range Wattage options - 550 W and 650 W. ASUS has a few selling points up its sleeve in this heavily saturated market: firstly, the PSUs feature a double ball-bearing 135 mm Axial Tech fan (an ASUS innovation), which features impellers that are webbed toward the ends to guide all their airflow axially. The fans are controlled by a 0 dB idle fan-stop logic (the fan stays completely off below a 30% load/temperature threshold). The main PCB features surface treatment that protects it from wear over the years (against moisture and dust debris). The third innovation is a segment-first 6-year product warranty.

Under the hood, the ASUS TUF Gaming Bronze PSUs feature single +12 V rail designs, 80 Plus Bronze efficiency as the name suggests, and protection against over/under-voltage, overload, overheat, and short-circuit. Both models feature fixed, sleeved cabling. Both models offer a single 4+4 pin EPS, 24-pin ATX, five SATA power, and four Molex connectors. The 550 W model offers two 6+2 pin PCIe power, while the 650 W model offers four of these. The PSU measures 150 mm in length. The company didn't mention pricing.

Super Flower today launched the shortest 1000 W PSU, the Leadex V Gold 1000 W. Some of the earliest pictures of this PSU started surfacing in May, and the company teased its dimensions back in March. Built in the standard ATX-PS/2 form-factor, the PSU is just 13 cm in length. You typically find 450-650 W PSUs this compact. Despite its compact dimensions, the Leadex V Gold 1000 W offers full modular cabling (something that typically adds to the length of a PSU internally).

Over the past few days, we've heard chatter about a new 12-pin PCIe power connector for graphics cards being introduced, particularly from Chinese language publication FCPowerUp, including a picture of the connector itself. Igor's Lab also did an in-depth technical breakdown of the connector. TechPowerUp has some new information on this from a well placed industry source. The connector is real, and will be introduced with NVIDIA's next-generation "Ampere" graphics cards. The connector appears to be NVIDIA's brain-child, and not that of any other IP- or trading group, such as the PCI-SIG, Molex or Intel. The connector was designed in response to two market realities - that high-end graphics cards inevitably need two power connectors; and it would be neater for consumers to have a single cable than having to wrestle with two; and that lower-end (<225 W) graphics cards can make do with one 8-pin or 6-pin connector.

The new NVIDIA 12-pin connector has six 12 V and six ground pins. Its designers specify higher quality contacts both on the male and female ends, which can handle higher current than the pins on 8-pin/6-pin PCIe power connectors. Depending on the PSU vendor, the 12-pin connector can even split in the middle into two 6-pin, and could be marketed as "6+6 pin." The point of contact between the two 6-pin halves are kept leveled so they align seamlessly.

Montech has recently released upgraded versions of its original Gamma Series of power supplies which were first released in 2018. The new Gamma II Series is available in 550 W, 650 W, and 750 W sizes and all feature a non-modular design with premium flat black cables. The series comes with motherboard power, dual CPU power, quad 6+2 pin PCIe cables (dual on 550 W), 8 SATA power connectors, tri MOLEX connectors, and an FDD connector. The Gamma II Series of power supplies are all rated at 80 Plus Gold efficiency and feature Japanese 105°C/221°F Capacitors, along with 120 mm adjustable RPM "silent" fans.

The Gamma II Series 80 PLUS Gold PSUs come with a 5-year warranty and are already available at Amazon and Newegg in the US, and worldwide at all Montech retailers. Pricing for the 550 W will be 65.99 USD, 72.99 USD for the 650 W model, and 79.99 USD for the 750 W model in North America.

Available in 500 W (ET-500MG) and 600 W (ET-600MG) variants, these PSUs offer full modular cabling, with cables for a premium single-GPU gaming PC build. Under the hood, the ET-MG series features a single +12 V rail design with 80 Plus Gold efficiency, 100% Japanese capacitors, and most common electric protections (against over/under-voltage, overload, overheat, and short-circuit). Interestingly, both models offer two 4+4-pin EPS connectors; and two 6+2 pin PCIe power connectors. While the 600 W model offers eight SATA power connectors, the 500 W model offers four. While the original DQ-M had +12 V rails dedicated to each of the connectors, the new DQ-M V2L series feature a more conventional single +12 V rail design. All three variants offer one 24-pin ATX, two 4+4 pin EPS, and four 6+2 pin PCIe power connectors. The 650 W and 750 W variants offer 7 SATA power, while the 850 W variant offers 10. A 120 mm fluid-dynamic bearing fan is used for cooling on all three models. DeepCool is backing these PSUs with 10-year warranties. All cables, including the 24-pin, are flat, ribbon-type. The company didn't reveal pricing information, but is expected to formally launch the three on July 14, Stateside.
