Sapphire Radeon RX 7600 PULSE Custom Cooling Solution Revealed in Leaked Photos

Sapphire's Radeon RX 7600 PULSE graphics card was leaked, albeit in fully boxed form, earlier this week. VideoCardz received a tip on Tuesday about a stack of products sitting in a retail store located somewhere in Asia - an insider source had taken photos of several boxes, weeks ahead of the rumored May 25 hardware launch. A brave seller on Singapore's Carousell online marketplace listed a number of Sapphire Radeon RX 7600 PULSE cards on the site, but these pages were swiftly taken down by admin. Specifications printed on outer packaging revealed that this GPU model packs 8 GB of VRAM and 32 RDNA3 CUs - indicating a full configuration of AMD's Navi 33 GPU die.

The embargo has been broken once again - earlier today VideoCardz published leaked images of the card itself (out of the box). The photos seem to be of official origin - perhaps destined for product pages on Sapphire's website(s) or online retail listings. A new PULSE custom cooling solution is on view - revealing a dual-fan and dual-slot design with a largely black cooler, accented with red markings plus a bit of white lettering. The shroud seems to lack any integrated RGB lighting zones or strips. An 8-pin power connector is present, possibly indicating that the custom card only requires 150 W (8-pin) + 75 W (PCIe) or more in operational power.

Sapphire Radeon RX 7600 PULSE GPUs Photographed Ahead of Late May Launch

VideoCardz has today received a tip-off from an anonymous source about a batch of Sapphire Radeon RX 7600 PULSE graphics cards - boxed products have been photographed sitting in a hardware store located "somewhere" in Asia. It is not immediately clear whether the Sapphire cards were pictured in a store-front setting, or an employee has taken a snap of stock stored in a backroom and shared it with their internet buddies. Previous leaks relating to AMD Radeon RX 7600 and 7600 XT cards have pointed to a May 25 launch day - so today's tip indicates that products have been readied well in advance of the anticipated release window.

The insider source claims that the Sapphire Radeon RX 7600 PULSE graphics card will be sold for about $249 in that particular territory. Specifications on the outer packaging can be read (if you zoom in enough) - the Pulse custom variant is labeled as being overclocked out-of-the-box, so it is highly likely that it will be fitted with a custom cooling solution. The packaging's blurb lists the presence of 32 RDNA3 CUs - indicating a full configuration of AMD's Navi 33 GPU die, consisting of 2048 stream processors. The Pulse card gets an Infinity Cache allocation of 32 MB, and a specification of (now typical) 8 GB GDDR6 video memory is confirmed.

Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 XT Pulse Slides Down to $800 Following TechPowerUp Review

Days following its TechPowerUp review where we noted its rather high $860 street price compared to several other custom-design RX 7900 XT graphics cards in the market, the Radeon RX 7900 XT Pulse by Sapphire, has seen a price correction. The card is now listed at $820 on American online retailer Newegg, with a -$20 coupon bringing it down to $800. At this price, the RX 7900 XT Pulse matches other cost-effective custom designs, such as the ASRock RX 7900 XT Phantom Gaming, and XFX RX 7900 XT Speedster Merc 310. Most premium custom-design RX 7900 XT cards have settled around the $850-mark. These include the ASRock RX 7900 XT Taichi, MSI RX 7900 XT Gaming Trio Classic, and the PowerColor RX 7900 XT Hellhound OC.

There are still a few cards that are either at the launch MSRP of $900 or beyond. These include the ASUS TUF Gaming RX 7900 XT OC, Sapphire RX 7900 XT NITRO+, and the PowerColor RX 7900 XT Red Devil OC. The ideal price for the RX 7900 XT is exactly where the market is driving it to (at or under $800), as it is under pressure from the RTX 4070 Ti. Some of the priciest RX 7900 XT cards comically overlap with the prices of the cheapest RX 7900 XTX.

Intel Xeon W9-3495X Can Pull up to 1,900 Watts in Extreme OC Scenarios

Intel's latest Xeon processors based on Sapphire Rapids uArch have arrived in the hands of overclockers. Last week, we reported that the Intel Xeon W9-3495X is officially a world record holder for achieving the best scores in Cinebench R23 and R20, Y-Cruncher, 3DMark CPU test, and Geekbench 3. However, today we have another extreme overclocking attempt to beat the world record, with little more details about power consumption and what the new SKU is capable of. Elmor, an overclocker working with ASUS, has tried to break the world record and overclocked the Intel Xeon W9-3495X CPU to 5.5 GHz on all 56 cores. What is more impressive is the power that the processor can consume.

With a system powered by two Superflower Leadex 1,600 Watt power supply units, the CPU consumed almost 1,900 Watts of power from the wall. To manage to cool this heat output, liquid nitrogen was used, and the CPU stayed at a cool negative 95 degrees Celsius. The motherboard of choice for this attempt was ASUS Pro WS W790E-SAGE SE, paired with eight GSKILL Zeta R5 DDR5 R-DIMMs modules. And results were incredible, as the CPU achieved 132,220 points in Cinebench R23. However, the world record of the previous week has remained intact, as Elmor 's result is a bit behind last week's score of 132,484 points. Check the video below for more info.

Intel Xeon W-3400/2400 "Sapphire Rapids" Processors Run First Benchmarks

Thanks to the attribution of Puget Systems, we have a preview of Intel's latest Xeon W-3400 and Xeon W-2400 workstation processors based on Sapphire Rapids core technology. Delivering up to 56 cores and 112 threads, these CPUs are paired with up to eight TeraBytes of eight-channel DDR5-4800 memory. For expansion, they offer up to 112 PCIe 5.0 lanes come with up to 350 Watt TDP; some models are unlocked for overclocking. This interesting HEDT family for workstation usage comes at a premium with an MSRP of $5,889 for the top-end SKU, and motherboard prices are also on the pricey side. However, all of this should come as no surprise given the expected performance professionals expect from these chips. Puget Systems has published test results that include: Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Unreal Engine, Cinebench R23.2, Blender, and V-Ray. Note that Puget Systems said that: "While this post has been an interesting preview of the new Xeon processors, there is still a TON of testing we want to do. The optimizations Intel is working on is of course at the top, but there are several other topics we are highly interested in." So we expect better numbers in the future.

AMD Said to be Following NVIDIA with Logistics Center in Taiwan

Just over a month ago, news broke that NVIDIA is planning to move its logistics center from Hong Kong to Taiwan and it now looks like AMD is getting ready to follow suit. The news is coming via Taiwan's United Daily News (UDN) and the paper claims that AMD will be setting up its logistics center in the Farglory free trade zone area in the Dayuan district of Taoyuan, which is next to Taiwan's main international airport. Currently companies like ASML and Asus operate inside the free trade zone and Farglory is currently in the last phase of an expansion of the free trade zone, which should be finalised sometime early in 2023. As such, there should be plenty of space for both NVIDIA and AMD to set up their logistics centers there.

The move for AMD doesn't seem to make as much sense as that of NVIDIA, as AMD's main graphics card partners, which should be Sapphire and XFX (Pine Group), are Hong Kong based companies. That said, AMD still has PowerColor, ASRock, Asus, Gigabyte and MSI in Taiwan, but only PowerColor is an exclusive AMD partner. This does of course not take motherboards or servers into account, where its Taiwanese partners are key. On the other hand, just as NVIDIA, AMD produces its GPUs at TSMC, so for products that doesn't end up in the PRC, it would make more sense to have them go straight to a logistics center in Taiwan, rather than having to ship them out to Hong Kong and then back to Taiwan again. According to UDN it's apparently also cheaper for AMD to shop goods directly from Taiwan to the PRC, as it's apparently quite costly to ship via Hong Kong. Another reason is of course the ongoing trade war between the US and the PRC, which could lead to future issues for both AMD and NVIDIA. Hong Kong has also slowly lost its importance as a key center in the electronics business, with Taiwan and Singapore having become more important hubs, according to UDN.

Gigabyte's and Sapphire's Radeon RX 7900-series Cards Pictured

Courtesy of VideoCardz, we now know what Gigabyte's and Sapphire's upcoming Radeon RX 7900-series cards will look like. Gigabyte will offer at least two different custom designed models, with the Aorus Elite being the higher-end one and the Gaming OC being the mainstream one. Both appear to come in RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT SKUs. The Aorus Elite is said to be a 3.5-slot card sporting three 8-pin power connectors, whereas the Gaming OC is a 2.5-slot card with two 8-pin power connectors.

The Sapphire card in question is the Nitro+ which has been given a design overhaul compared to the Radeon RX 6000-series cards and it's quite a bright card thanks to its silver coloured shroud. We're once again looking at a massive cooler here, which is wider than three slots, but maybe not quite 3.5-slots wide. Unsurprisingly, Sapphire has kitted out the card with three 8-pin power connectors. None of the three cards have a USB-C port and it appears that those looking to get an AMD Radeon RX 7900-series card with a USB-C port, would have to go for the reference design cards.

Sapphire's Radeon RX 7900 Cards Make an Early Appearance on Amazon

Although we're almost two weeks away from the official launch of AMD's Radeon RX 7900-series, Sapphire's reference design cards have already made an early appearance on Amazon. Both of its cards are listed on the e-tailers website, but sadly without pricing. No new specs were provided either, but at least we did get some more detailed pictures of the two cards. The cards are simply named the Radeon RX 7900 XT Gaming (21323-01-20G) and the Radeon RX 7900 XTX Gaming (21322-01-20G).

It's very clear from the pictures that the Radeon RX 7900 XTX is a much chunkier card than the RX 7900 XT. This also confirms Sapphire as one of the partners that will sell reference cards, but it's unclear if Sapphire will have custom cards ready in time for the launch, or if the company will add those to its line-up at a later date. Note that the model number for the Radeon RX 7900 XTX lists it as having 20 GB of VRAM, although the packaging clearly lists it as having 24 GB. Searching for the model numbers provided by Amazon, it appears that the cards will be in stock in Sweden as well, as one of the local distributors is listing the cards. Sapphire Teases its Radeon RX 7900-series Nitro Card

It appears that we're in the Radeon RX 7900-series teaser season, as yet another upcoming card has been teased on social media, this time by Sapphire. The company didn't share any details about the card, beyond the fact that's its an RX 7900 based card of some kind. The company shared a short video of the fans spinning on the card, from an angle that gives away as few details as possible. Beyond being able to tell that the card has triple-fan cooling solution and a silver coloured shroud, the only thing visible appears to be two RGB LED strips that runs along the length of the card.

Yields of Intel Sapphire Rapids Processors Are Low, Mass Production to Start in 1H2023

Intel's upcoming Sapphire Rapids processors have faced multiple delays over the past few years. Built on Intel 7 manufacturing process, the CPU is supposed to bring new advances for Intel's clients and significant performance uplifts. However, TrendForce reports that the mass production of Sapphire Rapids processors will be delayed from Q4 of 2022 to the first half of 2023. The reason for this (yet another) delay is that the Sapphire Rapids MCC die is facing a meager yield on Intel 7 manufacturing technology, estimated to be at only 50-60% at the time of writing. Economically, this die-yielding percentage is not profitable for Intel since many dies are turning out to be defective.

This move will stop many OEMs and cloud service providers (CSPs) from rolling out products based on the Sapphire Rapids design and will have to delay it until next year's mass production. On the contrary, AMD is likely to reap the benefits of Intel's delay, and AMD's x86 server market share will jump from 15% in 2022 to 23% in 2023. Given that AMD ships processors with the highest core counts, many companies will opt for AMD's solutions in their data centers. With more companies being concerned by their TCO measures with rising energy costs, favors fall in the hand of single-socket servers.

Sapphire Intros Radeon RX 6500 XT Graphics Card with Off-Spec 8GB Memory

Sapphire introduced one of the first Radeon RX 6500 XT graphics cards in the retail channel to feature 8 GB of video memory, double that of the 4 GB standard for the SKU. The Sapphire Pulse RX 6500 XT 8 GB resembles the company's standard Pulse RX 6500 XT in design. At this point it's unclear how Sapphire went about deploying 8 GB of memory with the RX 6500 XT, given its narrow 64-bit GDDR6 memory interface.

Sapphire probably used four 16 Gbit memory chips, with two chips piggybacking a 32-bit memory channel. This would finally put the metal backplate to some use, as two of the chips could be located on the reverse side of the PCB. The memory ticks at the same 18 Gbps speed as the standard RX 6500 XT. The card's typical board power is increased to 130 W, up from the 107 W AMD reference. This is probably because the added memory chips, as well as slightly increased clock speeds of 2685 MHz (game clock), vs. 2615 MHz reference. The company didn't announce pricing or availability, but is planning a global launch for this card.

Sapphire Radeon 6700 Graphics Cards Real: No RX, No XT

Sapphire formally launched its Radeon 6700 series graphics card. The AMD Radeon 6700 is an odd-ball SKU that doesn't yet feature in the company's retail product stack, but is yet being released to retail by Sapphire. So far we've not come across any other board partner with this SKU. The 6700 is unique in its branding—there's neither "RX" nor "XT" in the model name, it's called simply the "Radeon 6700."

Carved out from the same 7 nm "Navi 22" silicon as the RX 6700 XT and RX 6750 XT; the 6700 has 36 out of 40 compute units enabled, working out to 2,304 stream processors, and 144 TMUs. The card is endowed with 10 GB of 16 Gbps GDDR6 memory across a 160-bit wide memory interface. Sapphire has two cards in its lineup, one is an unnamed base model that sticks to the "reference" specs, and a factory-overclocked Pulse 6700 card.

AMD Readies Radeon RX 6700 (non-XT)? Sapphire Custom Design Card Suggests so

AMD is likely preparing to launch a new mid-range graphics card SKU positioned between the Radeon RX 6650 XT and the RX 6700 XT, the new RX 6700 (non-XT). It doesn't seem like the RX 6700 is an OEM-exclusive designed to get rid of silicon. Pictures surfaced of a Sapphire branded custom-design card, complete with box-art designed to woo customers in stores. It also doesn't appear to be a China-exclusive SKU, since Sapphire tends to put Chinese-language branding on its box-art, which is missing here.

The RX 6700 is configured with 2,304 stream processors across 36 RDNA2 compute units, out of the 40 physically present on the "Navi 22" silicon. The memory is an interesting piece of specs, with the RX 6700 coming with 10 GB standard—presumably over a 160-bit wide GDDR6 memory bus. This means five 16 Gbit (2 GB) GDDR6 memory chips. The engine clocks are reportedly 2330 MHz game clock, and 2495 MHz boost; and 16 Gbps memory speed. The cards' board-design is standard Sapphire fare, with nothing that stands out from the current RX 6700 XT Pulse and base-model custom cards from the company. One interesting thing to point out, though, is a single 8-pin connector on the base-model custom card (225 W maximum power capability including the PCIe slot), which should put the typical board power around 200 W. The cards are reportedly launching in Europe on June 9, priced around 569€ including taxes.

SAPPHIRE Launches Radeon RX 6x50 XT Graphics Card

Sapphire Radeon RX 6950X TOXIC Reportedly Boosts to 2565 MHz at 346W TGP

As AMD is preparing to launch a highly-anticipated refresh of the Radeon RX 6000 series, codenamed RX 6x50 XT series. Alongside AMD, add-in board partners (AIBs) will have their say as well, and today we get to take a look at the alleged specifications of Sapphire's highest-end upcoming products. According to Chiphell member RaulMee, who claims to possess the specification of the newest Sapphire models, we are expected to see a bit higher total board power (TGP) with the arrival of this refresh. First and foremost, the Sapphire RX 6950XT TOXIC is the fastest air-cooled model from Sapphire, with a boost clock of up to 2565 MHz (255 MHz over AMD's reference 2310 MHz model), carrying a TGP of 364 Watts in OC BIOS. Regular TGP for this model is 332 Watts with a boost speed of up to 2532 MHz. Please note that this includes the power output of GPU and memory.

Next up, we have Sapphire's RX 6950XT NITRO+ SKUs. The non-SE card is a minor improvement over the AMD Radeon RX 6950XT reference GPU and offers a Silent BIOS option. The RX 6950XT NITRO+ Special Edition can go up to 325 Watts and 2435 MHz with OC BIOS applied. Silent BIOS is also an option, and it lowers the TGP to 303 Watts and 2368 MHz. The alleged specification chart also carries Sapphires' RX 6750XT & 6650XT NITRO+ GPUs, of which you can check the clock speeds and TGPs below.

Sapphire Radeon RX 6400 PULSE Low Profile GPU Pictured

Sapphire looks set to launch one of the first low-profile RDNA2 graphics cards with the single-slot Radeon RX 6400 PULSE that has recently been leaked by VideoCardz. The card features a nearly identical design to the companies existing low-profile Radeon PRO W6400 product offering a single HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 port along with an optional half-height bracket. The Sapphire Radeon RX 6400 PULSE features 768 Stream Processors and 12 Ray Accelerators along with 4 GB of GDDR6 memory running at 16 Gbps. The card doesn't require any additional power connectors with a TDP of 53 W which could make it a good option for low-power builds. The Radeon RX 6400 was first announced by AMD in January for the OEM market with DIY market products set to launch in a few days on April 20th.

Sapphire Readies Radeon RX 6950 XT TOXIC Limited Edition

AMD is readying to refresh its Radeon RX 6000 RDNA2 graphics card series with the new RX 6x50 series that use faster memory, and possibly higher engine clock speeds; and Sapphire is preparing updates to its entire custom-design graphics card product-stack. The top-dog RX 6950 XT will receive the company's highest-end TOXIC Limited Edition treatment, according to an Italian retail ready with listings. This SKU, like its RX 6900 XT-based predecessor (pictured below), will feature an all-in-one liquid cooling solution, with a pump+block that pulls heat from the GPU, ventilated by a large 360 mm radiator. Custom-design RX 6900 XT cards already use triple-8 pin PCIe power connector setup, and so it will be interesting to see if AMD implements the ATX 3.0 16-pin connector NVIDIA did with its RTX 3090 Ti.

First AMD Radeon RX 6x50XT Card Pricing Posted by Italian Retailer

Based on a pair of screenshots posted on Twitter by leaker @momomo_us, it appears that AMD's refreshed graphics cards aren't that far away, as Italian retailer Breakpoint has listed several Radeon RX 6x50XT cards on its website, alongside pricing. The cards in question are all from Sapphire and consist of Toxic, Nitro+ and Pulse cards. The listings have already been removed, but it might not matter too much, as the pricing isn't exactly affordable. For example, the Toxic RX 6950 XT LE Gaming OC was listed for €3,133.83, although that does include an AIO cooler.

The Nitro+ RX 6950XT model was listed at over €3,000, whereas the Nitro+ RX 6750XT was listed at over €1,400, or around €200 more than an RX 6800. The Nitro+ version of the RX 6650XT was listed north of €850, but even the two Pulse versions of the RX 6750XT and RX 6650XT are in the same crazy ballpark. Even the upcoming entry level RX 6400 model is listed at over €360 and you'd have to be mad to pay that kind of money for such a basic card. These prices are simply pure nonsense and should not be taken as an indicator of what these upcoming cards will cost. AMD is said to be launching the refreshed cards on the 10th of May, but the company might make an announcement later this month, where it will reveal the specs.

ASRock Launches H670, B660 and H610 Motherboards

From the supply chain perspective, the ODM Direct business model has gradually replaced the business model of the traditional server market, giving cloud service providers the ability to respond quickly to market changes. SAPPHIRE Announces NITRO+ S360-A and S240-A All-in-One Liquid CPU Coolers

Sapphire today entered the CPU cooling components market with the NITRO+ line of all-in-one, closed-loop, liquid CPU coolers. The series debuts with two variants based on radiator size, S360-A and S240-A (360 mm x 120 mm and 240 mm x 120 mm, respectively). The cooler uses 7th Gen Asetek pump-block technology, which integrates a thermal sensor within the pump-block, and onboard logic that accordingly adjusts pump speed. The block is studded with addressable RGB lighting, a 3D structure resembling a roll-cage, and a brushed aluminium accent.

The second Sapphire innovation with these coolers is the included set of fans for the aluminium radiator. Inspired from the fans found in Sapphire's NITRO+ series graphics cards, these double ball-bearing fans feature impellers with 13 densely packed blades that are webbed off at the edges, to guide all their airflow axially. ARGB LEDs are studded in the impeller hubs. The pump turns at speeds ranging between 800 to 2,800 RPM, while the fans turn between 450 to 2,500 RPM. Among the CPU socket types supported are LGA1700, AM4, and LGA1200. The company didn't reveal pricing.
