Sparkle Announces Calibre Intelligent Dual Fly VGA Cooling Solution

Sparkle Computer announced its newest innovation in graphics card design: the Calibre IDF (Intelligent Dual Fly) cooler. Its design intends to put greater control over the card's temperatures, while taking the same away from driver-level fan speed presets. The concept involves a copper GPU block from which heatpipes arise, conveying heat to two circular aluminum fin arrays on either sides of the block. Each array holds its own fan that blows air onto it. The air from these also help passively cool other components on the graphics card, such as memory chips and the VRM area. Between these two also lies the so-called "GBOX control terminal".

This component has its own temperature sensor, and depending on the temperature, adjusts fan speeds, and interestingly, has a mechanism that moves the two aluminum fin arrays parallel to the plane of the PCB or angled to it. When angled, the cooler's passive cooling (under its air-flow) is extended to far reaches of the card. Thresholds are set for under 50 °C temperatures to keep the two parallel to the card, and higher temperatures angled to it. With low power requirements of this mechanism, the entire cooler makes do with the 4-pin fan power connection to the card. Sparkle is also working on an accessory that lets the cooler's readings and perhaps some controls be provided on a fan-controller that fits into a 5.25" drive bay on the PC case. Although no new graphics cards from the company are said to feature this cooler, it will make it to newer models in the near future.

Sparkle Jumps on the ION Bandwagon

We have seen plenty of ION nettop implementations around. The Acer Revo has been causing some waves in the recent past, but Sparkle has the best syste of the plattform around so far - in my humble opinion. The unit is modular and looks much like a small home stereo system. The actual PC is contained within the extremely compact middle module in the picture, while the bottom holds a hot swap bay for a 2.5 inch hard drive. The box up top contains a VFD. All of the modules are connectd to the main PC via USB.

SPARKLE Proudly Announced Diamonds Sputtering Technology for Video Cards

SPARKLE Computer Co., Ltd., the professional VGA card manufacturer and supplier, today proudly announced Diamonds Sputtering technology for video cards, which raise the bar for video card cooling technology.

Now with more and more advanced relative technologies, the performance of video cards is getting stronger and stronger, there will be more heat generated by video cards, which significantly impairs the life expectancy of GPU and video memory chips on video cards. Video card companies have a lot of programs come and go to solve the problem of heat dissipation. The most commonly seen in general is the use of fans with cooling fins to do additional cooling. in the early days, the cooling job can be done simply with a fan or cooling fins, but in today's graphics cards with more intense heat than before, the cooling job must be done on the technologies not the same as before, not just rely on the fan and cooling fins. Video card companies must go to find some relatively new method to solve the problem of heat dissipation.

Sparkle Adds 1GB GeForce 9600 GSO to its Lineup

As NVIDIA celebrates the launch of its two new flagship products: the GeForce GTX 295 and GeForce GTX 285, Sparkle made an addition to its mainstream graphics lineup with a 1 GB variant its GeForce 9600 GSO accelerator (model: SX96SO1024D3-HM). Sparkle Calibre P960 - GeForce 9600GT 512MB with Dual Fly Cooling

Sparkle Computer has introduced a non-reference GeForce 9600GT using a new Dual Fly cooling. The card comes factory overclocked with a core running at 700MHz, 1850MHz shader clock and 512MB GDDR3 memory at 2.0GHz using 256-bit memory interface. The most interesting part is the cooler though. According to the company's PR "This high-efficient Cooling System developed by SPARKLE itself consists of aluminum die-casting thermal base with copper core inside, three high-efficient heat pipes and dual cooling fans with 0.2 mm thin cooling fins. When the GPU starts working, the copper core inside the aluminum die-casting thermal base will quickly take the working heat from the GPU to the heat-pipe horizontally put inside the thermal base, and the heat will be equably and rapidly spread to the left part and right part of the aluminum die-casting thermal base, at same time, the two circular heat pipes also quickly bring the heat from GPU to the 0.2 mm thin cooling fins, now the strong wind pressure and airflow made by two cooling fans take all the heat out of the cooling module." The actual gain from Dual Fly is up to 10°C cooler GPU, 5°C cooler case temperature and less noise (around 29dB). The Calibre P960 is expected to be available soon.
