Belkin Announces WeMo SMART, a Platform to Bring Internet to Everyday Devices

Qualcomm StreamBoost Technology to Optimize Performance and Capacity of Home Networks

Qualcomm Incorporated today announced that its subsidiary, Qualcomm Atheros, Inc., introduced StreamBoost technology for Wi-Fi routers and gateways. Wi-Fi Alliance and Wireless Gigabit Alliance to Unify

Wi-Fi Alliance and the Wireless Gigabit (WiGig) Alliance have executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlining their plans to consolidate activity in Wi-Fi Alliance. The agreement builds on more than two years of collaboration between the organizations, in which WiGig Alliance developed the groundbreaking WiGig technology specifications including MAC-PHY and Protocol Adaptation Layers (PALs) and Wi-Fi Alliance initiated work to develop an interoperability certification for 60 GHz products.

Cisco Reports First Quarter Earnings

Cisco, the worldwide leader in networking that transforms how people connect, communicate and collaborate, today reported its first quarter results for the period ended October 27, 2012. Cisco reported first quarter net sales of $11.9 billion, net income on a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) basis of $2.1 billion or $0.39 per share, and non-GAAP net income of $2.6 billion or $0.48 per share.

"We delivered record results this quarter -- with revenue growth of 6 percent and strong earnings per share growth -- demonstrating our vision and strategy are working," said John Chambers, chairman and chief executive officer, Cisco. Toshiba America Introduces the FlashAir SD Memory Card

Toshiba's Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced the wireless LAN embedded SD memory card "FlashAir."
