Overclocking

Overclocking the Intel Arc graphics cards is possible using the company's "Arc Control" software, which is included with the driver.



Arc Control has improved a lot since my Arc A380 review, and it's perfectly usable now.

What I really like is that Intel is giving us good adjustment ranges for GPU Voltage Offset (up to 0.27 V) and the Power Limit can be set to 228 W, up from a default of 190 W.

Overclocking works just like on any other card from AMD or NVIDIA—increase the clock speeds while testing for stability, until the card crashes. Then back down a little bit and verify you're 100% stable.

Using these clock frequencies, we ran a quick test of Unigine Heaven to evaluate the gains from overclocking.


Actual 3D performance gained from overclocking is 6.0%.
