Cooler Master HAF 932 Review

A Closer Look - Outside

The chassis itself is made of steel and plastic. Cooler Master has chosen high quality materials and has given the case a rugged look. Both aspects fit very well together and make for a great looking enclosure.

The front of the chassis - as mentioned before - is made of plastic and has some metal mesh drive bay covers. The rear shows the unfinished metal surface also found in the interior of the case. This may not look so nice, but odds are, you won't see the rear of the case anyways.

Cooler Master has gone into great detail with the design. Both sides are quite unique in both looks and functionality. The windowed one does not only come with a small window, but a 230 mm fan as well. A "HAF" print on the chassis adds to the theme of the case. On the other side, which does not have any holes or windows, Cooler Master has chosen to extrude an industrial design - a very nice touch.

The bottom of the front holds a large air vent, behind which is another 230 mm fan. Above that are the external drive bays. The front I/O - a complete set consisting of USB 2.0, Firewire, eSATA and Audio plugs - has been placed on the very top of the HAF 932. This is certainly the best place for a large case like this.

There are a few additional surprises on the top of the case. The first is the access to a water reservoir. It is covered by a rubber square, above the power button. The rear ceiling of the chassis holds the third and last 230 mm fan.

Taking a closer look at the rear of the HAF 932, starting at the bottom, the power supply is to be placed here by default. The mainbord expansion slots can be found above this bay. Cooler Master uses some unique approach here, as they are simply mesh pieces cut into the correct size. This is a further detail to go with the industrial theme and also allows for air flow in this area. A 120 mm rear fan pulls hot air out of the case and you may install an additional power supply on the very top or use the two holes to route water cooling out the back of the HAF 932.
