The Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 850 W surely doesn't set new performance records, but does, for the money it costs, offer high efficiency, a modular design, good built quality, many connectors and, of course, as its name implies, a silent operation. If its ripple suppression on the +12V rail was better, it would easily get a much higher rating but this wasn't the case and I am very sensitive on issues that have to do with ripple. Strangely enough, its bigger brother, the Silent Pro M2 1000 W, registered much lower ripple on the same rail despite of its higher capacity. The platform of the 850 W unit apparently needs some modifications in order to perform well in this area.

To wrap up, the Silent Pro M2 850 W has an excellent price/performance ratio and this is clearly shown in our Performance per Dollar graph. You should take a look at it if you need a strong PSU with modular design and silent operation. Regarding the high ripple at +12V I measured at full load tests: the corresponding ripple chart in the Cross Load Tests page shows that only at some load combinations, close to the PSU's full capacity, does ripple exceeds 80 mV, while throughout 300-600 W loads, ripple is much lower and ranges between 40-60 mV.
