Efficiency is Gold and the unit features a semi-modular design. We would obviously prefer a fully modular design, but it would increase its price significantly. Since the unit is compliant with the latest ATX specification (currently v. 2.4), it is Haswell ready, which is indicative of the minor rails being generated by an independent regulation scheme consisting of, in this case, two DC-DC converters.
There are only four available protection features which, however, are enough for the needs of this PSU, and Enermax states that the fan has a diameter of 139 mm instead of 140 mm since the 140 mm variant is patented by another company—shrink the fan by 01. cm and get away without paying patent fees! Although it is often included in Gold units, the ERX630AWT doesn't feature a semi-passive operation we aren't huge fans of. Finally, its small length greatly reduces its footprint making its installation an easier process.

|Total Max. Power||630W|
The single +12V rail can deliver up to 60 A, so it is powerful enough to support two mid-level VGAs while the minor rails have enough juice for every contemporary system that needs a mid-wattage PSU, and the 5VSB rail has enough capacity to easily cope with the task.
Cables & Connectors, Power Distribution
|ATX connector (620mm)||24 pin|
|4+4 pin EPS12V/ATX12V (630mm)||1|
|6+2 pin PCIe (520mm+150mm)||2|
|6+2 pin PCIe (500mm)||2|
|4 pin Molex (500mm+150mm+150mm+150mm) / FDD(+150mm)||4 / 1|
The PSU has an adequate number of connectors for its capacity. Also, cable length is sufficient considering a unit of its wattage will most likely not be installed into an enormous case. The distance among connectors is in all cases 15 cm, which is good. Some of you will obviously complain and ask for SATA connectors that are closer to one another, but we personally prefer more instead of less space between these. Every connectors uses the standard 18AWG gauges recommended by the ATX spec.
Since this PSU features a single +12V rail, we do not have anything to comment on about its power distribution.
