G.SKILL might be the most prolific enthusiast memory company out there, one that is continually topping the charts with overclocking records while also providing some of the most affordable memory solutions for those more focused on value as well. Those two completely different ideals have both been met by nobody better than G.SKILL over the years, so much so that they've been on these pages more times than I can remember. They've commonly been the first out with high-performance DDR4 kits, sometimes with sticks so fast that they exceed what most boards are capable of. With recently released platforms from both Intel and AMD that performance limit has risen a little bit further, which means we now need a new, faster set of G.SKILL memory in our arsenal to help us push what motherboards are capable of.
G.SKILL's Trident Z series has been around for a long time, and the tried-and-tested performance they offer is always a cut above what other kits from other brands are capable of, and the set we are looking at today is another one of those kits. With a base speed of 4000 MHz and timings set at 19-21-21-41, this specific kit of G.SKILL Trident Z memory is faster than many motherboards support these days, with quite a few topping out at 3600 or 3866 MHz on Intel and 3433 MHz on AMD. There are certain boards out there that can go way higher than that if you've got the other hardware to support it, however, and this kit of G.SKILL Trident Z memory is exactly for that.
