Efficiency is only Bronze, but we shouldn't expect more for such a price. The unit's maximum operating temperature is restricted to 40°C. Protection features include all the basic ones except for OTP (Over Temperature Protection) which is, in our humble opinion, essential in a PSU. The PSU is pretty short, something that will greatly help during its installation. The warranty of this unit is three years long, enough for a PSU of this price category.
|In Win GreenMe 650 W Power Specs|
|Total Max. Power||650W|
There are four +12V rais with 25 A max current output each. The good thing here is that the unit's maximum power can be delivered by the +12V alone if need be, something convenient in a contemporary system because it would draw most power from this rail. The minor rails can deliver up to 120 W combined, which is a sufficient power level for every application, and the 5VSB rail is a little stronger than average.
Cables & Connectors, Power Distribution
|ATX connector (500mm)||20+4 pin|
|4+4 pin EPS12V (500mm)||1|
|6+2 pin PCIe (500mm)||2|
|4 pin Molex (500mm+150mm+150mm) / FDD (+150mm)||3 / 1|
The ATX and EPS cables are quite short with 50 cm. At least another 5-10 cm are needed for trouble-free installation in any chassis. Also, the number of PCIe connectors is too small for the capacity of the unit. A 650 W PSU should have at least four PCIe connectors to support two VGAs with dual-power sockets each. A couple more SATA and peripheral connectors would also boost the unit's usability. At least the distance amongst all connectors is adequate.
Regarding gauges size, all connectors use 18AWG wires, which are the minimum required according to ATX spec.
|12V1||ATX, Peripheral, SATA|
Power distribution is good since the EPS connector is separated from the PCIe ones, and the latter are fed by different +12V rails.
