Reeven has a solid performer in the Ouranos. Not only does it offer performance on par with its peers, but it also manages to be of decent value. Offering perfect memory clearance on our test system, it makes a good fit for those who like flashy memory modules. Noise levels are also surprising in that the Ouranos is nearly silent until the fan hits its maximum RPM of 1621 at which it's still relatively quiet. Back that up with good build quality and bold looks and you end up with an attractive offering. It doesn't hurt that Reeven throws in some extra fan clips for a dual-fan configuration. The ability to increase performance even if only by a small amount is always nice to have. Overall, I found a great deal to like about the Ouranos from Reeven.

A few issues, however, knock some of the wind out of its sails. First, the mounting system needs to be improved. The cooler is not hard to install, but no one likes wrenches; it's 2015, soon to be 2016, so step up your game, Reeven. Another issue is that the cooler sits very close to the primary expansion slot, which doesn't exactly make the Ouranos mini-ITX friendly. The biggest issue for me is the yellow fan; I just can't help it—yellow is a color i dislike. That's a personal gripe of mine, though. Still, yellow is a hard color to match a system's theme around. Granted, it's not impossible, but yellow is yellow—some will love it and others will hate it. The Reeven Ouranos is also hard to find in the United States, impossible even.

I have to say I do like the Ouranos, although it would impress me even more at $50 instead of $55 and with improved availability. Its performance and noise levels are damn good. Build quality is also solid and a few personal gripes aside, I would recommend the Reeven Ouranos to someone in need of a good mid-range cooler. I just hope Reeven can improve availability in the near future.

Reeven's Ouranos is a damn good tower cooler that operates quietly, performs above average, and comes in a bold yellow and black theme.
