Packaging

The packaging looks like it hides a girl's toy with all these butterflies and the purple color. On the front a series of badges informs us about the main characteristics of the unit and we also find the usual overclocking logo, which refers to the 600W overpowering capability of the unit with Gold efficiency. On the rear we find more detailed information about the features, specifications and there is even a description of the interior materials used. It's really interesting, at least for the more experienced users, to know what brand capacitors and mosfets this unit uses.

Two layers of packing foam protect the PSU along with bubble wrap. We also find a nylon pouch which holds the few modular connectors. The rest of the bundle includes a set of thumbscrews for chassis mounting, an AC power cord and a user's manual.

Exterior

The unit features a black matte finish, which is fairly scratch resistant. The sides are full of ventilation holes, in order to increase air circulation. On the front, underneath the AC receptacle, we find an On/Off switch which is a very welcome feature. On the rear side there are four, quite large sockets for the modular connectors. These sockets are protected by silicone caps.
Where the fan typically resides we find a thick heatsink. This absorbs all heat from the PSU internals and dissipates it through its fins to the environment. In order to have a proper heat transfer to the heatsink the unit must be installed facing upwards, otherwise the heat will be trapped inside the PSU causing possible malfunctions, especially if we take into account that there is no Over Temperature Protection present.
The hardwired cables are sleeved back into the housing and there is a grommet around the cable exit hole. Also all modular cables are flat, something that will greatly assist in cable management.
