UE's line of BOOM products is rapidly growing in size and popularity, and with the release of the much anticipated UE MEGABOOM, they are well on their way to conquering an even larger market. The MEGABOOM is just that, a MEGA-sized UE BOOM with a little more of everything that made the original a major hit. Now, some have voiced concerns that the increase in size and, notably, in weight make it less portable, which is true. The increase in weight is both good and bad since the new MEGABOOM is not a replacement for the BOOM, but, rather, a less portable, more powerful device for those with greater needs. It is still sufficiently small to bring with you for a day on the beach, but possibly just a little to unwieldy to lug around all the time.
The MEGABOOM makes great sense around the house because it has more power and projects better, which allows the BOOM line to bridge the gap to pricier multi-room speakers, and the MEGABOOM will also feel equally at home in the garden as on your kitchen counter. It isn't as versatile as the EU BOOM, but does hopefully trade its versatility in for other virtues. We put the MEGABOOM through its paces to figure out whether it can rival the feel of the original!
